Thanksgiving trivia....Americans will buy slightly over 48 million tukeys for this Thanksgiving Dinner...and they average eating 22 pounds per year per person.

Glad all went well with the surgery Shirley, hope all is OK.

I won't be eating any Turkey I can't stand the taste of it Smile

Chicken gave me serious food poisoning 8 years ago and I'm still not right so that's off the menu too.

Hi everyone!...I'm understanding that many of these so called "meat"ailments come mostly from people not cooking their meat in high enough temperatures to kill bacteria...in fact the new food canning canning books are asking people to put "Oregano" when they pressure cooker can meat...just to be on the safe side.

I went out to take one grandson home to have the other delivered this afternoon while I was lightly cold smoking the turkey. But she was looking really good this morning in comparison to her last operation. Her head bandages she had taken off, but they won't completely unpack her ears until the 19th I guess One more check up and she's done if the infection is gone..no tumors growing.. and the implants are working properly. So far, I was told $80,000..thought the kids had this done by the hospital medical crisis program or some such I think...I don' think he has any health insurance, or not enough to cover it all anyway. I can' t think of what they call it, I think an medical bankruptcy...I know they paid my $50,000 heart operation...we paid $2,000 more out of our own pocket. So you see, Obama does need to do something with the medical costs in this country..hardly no one can cover their medical bills, even when they do have health insurance. I got an call on the phone from an man that I thought I recognized his voice...Psychic1...fella I met on-line many years ago in "Sprit web" that is very special to me...he don' t mess around...he's there to heal and nothing more. He's the one I told you has the Government Grant to heal those the medical society can't and he's their last hope. You have no idea the little kids with cancer that many of the hospital had written off and he went and he healed them. He long distance healed sissy when she was an baby with an raging temperature and rash.. the hospital was running around because they couldn't find IV needles tiny enough to fit her veins. He made me hold an baby picture up to the computer so he could see her and "tune in" to her...he told me that the rash would be gone by tomarrow...she had the three day measles...and the temperature was being taken down by the hospital as we spoke...that if she was fussy...it was because the rash was irritating where her diapers fit her when she wet. He was totally correct...next day, it was all gone, everything...hospital diagnosis...unknown infection. I was so grateful to him, I was crying alligator tears by the time he came on and asked me what was the problem...an true pyschic, you don't have to tell them an thing... that there is someone in need...nor can you lie about anything in the conversation...they "know" the truth. After my dad passed on, we were going through his papers at the house...I picked up an letter from some "Lady" that said she needed to talk to him immediately..that he was in danger...and I asked Betty about the letter and she kind of brushed it off and said they never answered because they felt she was probably out after an quick buck...but that day as I was looking over his medical pills...and writing them down, I later came home an looked them up to see he was given two completely incompatible medications...and that is why I feel now that as Betty said, he went to the bathroom and suddenly keeled over dead on the spot. No warning what so ever...so I wonder being if he had singed papers to not try to save his life...if they gave him an "death" cocktail in his pills. His problem was his lungs from ensphymeia.(breathing)....not his heart. Hospital had dispensed one of them, after releasing him... Hospice the other. My idea of hospice these days is "You'll be dead within the week if we show up to help" But anyway...I could of done nothing about dad anyway...I didn't have the authority...Betty did and I think she couldn't take care of herself, let alone anyone else. But so goes....on to "Christmas" and the kid's house looked strewn with decorations this morning to high heaven, and I understand that she wants the house decorated before the kids get off Thanksgiving vacation. I'm feeling that way also, the quicker the better. I have just the salad(I'l do it tonight)...and then it's the last minute cooking and Turkey tomarrow...so they can escape to "Black Friday" sales...she said keep it simple...so it is.  Lightly smoked Turkey, mashed potatoes, Gravy, cole slaw, 7 layer green salad, cornbread dressing with sausage and corn, shredded roast beef with au jus dip..green bean casserole, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, crackers and spread, pumpkin cheese cake, strawberry cheese cake, deep dutch apple pie. cookies...much of it is planned for them to take home after the shopping to their house also..so they can rest and not have to cook. Have an good Thanksgiving everyone...and be glad that we can share an bountifulness in the world of good things..... in spirit...and with each other..and with our families in safety and security...of all the commandments..."Love" is the greatess...(huggies POE)...on to an Merry Christmas...let's help make it come true.

Morning everyone Smile

Shirley is correct about meat ailments coming from people not cooking the stuff properly. My poisoning came from a once in a life time visit to a famous fried chicken outlet, only because a visiting friend liked the product. I should have known when I saw the chicken being prepared and cooked by what looked like 10 year olds that I should have avoided it, but no, 24 hours later the offending stuff took it's toll Frown

Have a good day everyone and a happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the US Laughing

Its going to be a good day. Sadly hubby goes back to work tonight, but we'll fit in an early family dinner. Four of his five sisters live here, so its a good turnout.

I had an nice dinner also, though any left-overs are going to others...and imagine the surprise when my neighbor brought me over an small turkey today...having gotten off her temporary Christmas job. She said she had something she wanted to share, since I've been doing likewise in the neighborhood all last summer long. I've also hired her foster kids to help me in the past decorate for Christmas to earn some cash over the Holiday. Kids took off to the Black Friday Sales already. We will see them tomarrow when I take the kids out there and the left-overs so she doesn't have to cook and see how she's getting along on her decorating. My sister in-law has asked if we could help her get her Christmas Tree this year as my brother is working for Federal Express and is really busy this time of the year...so told her that I'd give her an call after things get back to normal from Today. We might have snow by Monday..rain coming in and high temp for the day is suppose to be 39 degrees...low 24 degrees. But I'll see what I can do to her get an tree...she doesn't go to far away from here. We have already been making ornaments for it this year. I guess I get going for now...could use some more 7-up I think. I am pretty close to maxing myself out from the dinner...not in eating it either...I mean tired from cooing it all the last several days

The "butterball" turkey was melt in your mouth tender...and the roast beef au jus had an bottle of Henry Weinhart's "private reserve" beer in it...long time beer maker from Portland for some years back. Tomarrow is our "Macy's" Parade out here...but I did get to watch some of it in New York this morning on TV...now for the second night of "X-factor" and they were all good last night...it was Big Band night..going to be an hard choice. My time to relax. Besides...my grandson and I went into battle mode with two "Star Wars" thumb wrestling lasers...he's an fighter and then some...he just popped that thing off my finger in no time in the middle of an desert scene...and gave his slightly wicked laugh....now he's asking for the uno cards..so better get going.
