Good afternoon everyone, a much brighter one today Smile

John you are still obviously very upset about the airport, is there no hope for it's future, or is there a plan in the pipeline ?

We're sat waiting for an estate agent James, we're having the house valued. It's on four flours which is not a problem at the moment, but we really need to move before it does become an issue. 39 steps from top to bottom keeps us fit though Smile

It all sounds like one big mess up to me as well John. Why spend money on expanding a runway and moving equipment when there is a perfectly good airfield with everything in place. As you say it stinks.

You are being wise Ruth, about selling your home, we down sized when Bern retired 13 yrs ago, bought a ground floor apartment, which Bern gutted out then.we have a small but lovely garden, w ehave never looked back,

I see on our local paper that where we live Chard is the roughest wildest town in the West,

Many thanks to you all for my good wishes about my op, cant wait now,

We just want something on two floors Pat, we are on a road so we often have trouble with parking, we are also an inner terrace with limited outside space and a few shared areas like the bins etc, which is a bit of a nuisance.

Fortunately houses in this village sell for really stupid prices. We are looking at buying in one of the villages near the coast in East Yorkshire. For the money we can get for ours, we can get a 3 bedroom detached house with garage, gardens and a conservatory with cash to spare in that area. We can't downsize internally we have 4 children, 3 grandchildren plus 1 one the way who will be visiting so we need the space Smile

Anyway the estate agent who came today won't be coming back, too many charges for this that and the other. Next one is on Monday.

you are right  about the estate agents charging  the earth,

we hung onto our house thinking our daughter and family would come sometimes , instead they went went further away, now living up in scotland,  our youngest daughter and family live here in chard about a mile away, but we hardly ever see them they are busy, and the children grown up.The trouble is i do feel hurt at times as i always looked after the Children when they were young while Helen went back to work,

That's a shame Pat, we see all ours quite regularly, even the one with a family in Germany. When you've helped out with the children it would be nice if they visited more often.

Estate agents, what a set. The one who came today wanted to charge £180 set up fee, 1.25% commision on a sale, and £50 if you took it off the market. The one coming on Monday, no set up fee, 1% commision on sale, and no fee if you take it off the market.

The only thing extra you got with the first one was a floor plan on Right Move. We've found a free app that designs floor plans, it scans the rooms using the iPad camera and works everything out for you.  The chap coming Monday says that's fine we can use our own at no cost.

I know which one we'll be going with Smile
