Every mornin' at the forum you could see him arrive,

He stood six foot two, weighed two ninety-five.

He was broad at the shoulder, kinda narrow at the hip,

And everyone knew they didn't give no lip to Big Ron. Smile

Paul - LOL!

Sung to this tune, right Paul?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR9dDdUmdtU

right on ruth, and thanks for the link!  Hum along with the next verse?

Ron got to posting when he started to yawn,

A message came through from Delta Dawn.

There's a guy in the forum and he's lookin' mean,

And Ron thought--Yeah, that ain't no Cajun Queen.

The others said Hi, then left it to Ron,

For Ron knew then that the pressure was on for Big Ron.

He got to thinkin', his fingers moved fast,

Everybody thought Ron had typed his last.

But Ron played cool, didn't show his hand,

And met that guy down in the desert land; Big Ron......

Ron stood firm, and was talkin' tough,

He said--Hey watcha doin? I'm callin' your bluff.

Now some folk thought----how did Ron guess?

That guy in the desert should be wearin' a dress; thought Ron.

Now Ron reached out just sayin' Howdy,

Where y'all from? and she just said, Saudi.

So they got to talkin', Ron said he was bad,

Well, you ain't seen nothin' yet, thought Eva Bin Haad.  Big Ron.

Re:  Dennis White's posting from a few pages back:

I agree, Dennis, so much of what we know about other countries is from stereotypes and pop culture.  That's why this website is so great - did you ever dream there was so much open space in England?  I didn't.  And England was even more fantastic that I imagined it, once we got there.  But I guess the "open space" in a country with relatively small square mileage and a relatively big population is because most of the people who live there are piled up in the cities, like Andy mentions.

Dennis, I have to concur with what Andy and Sue say about getting the "real" England experience.  If that's what you want, I'd avoid the tourist traps.  You obviously had a taste of real England by visiting Ron and Oxford.  It was POE that turned me on to N. Yks.  All flights from N. America land in London, so there will always be an opportunity to see all the famous tourist attractions, but I knew we'd have to go beyond London to experience "real" England.  Surf around this website before your next trip over there and check out some of the lesser known cities and towns.  Cumbria is now very high on my list for next time, as is Cornwall.  And I'm glad they're on opposite ends of the island, because nothing would give me greater pleasure than the drive between them.  Don't limit yourself, especially in the British Isles.  And if you must hit the tourist traps, it's probably good to go during the off-season (cheaper too).  We visited Stonehenge as well as Blarney Castle in Ireland, but since it was November, it was much less crowded.  The beauty of the internet is that you can research all you need for a wonderful tailor-made vacation that fits your budget and gets you what you want out of it.  And of course, the best way to learn about any country is to talk to its people, especially if there's no language barrier.

Hi Ruth,  glad you enjoyed my little sightly revised song. I'm just waiting for the writs to arrive now.....Yes Sue, it is getting late--but took ages to think of a place that rhymed with Howdy.  It's my normal working hours anyway, so it's still "daytime" for me too.

Anyway, that's the end of the song. i'm off to bed ( I think?) probably.

Cheers, everyone over there!
