I live quite near to London Janice, just a short 30min train journey away or a (what used to be!) a quick trip down the M1, but I avoid it like the plague, maybe it's because i've been there many many times who knows, but to me it's just too busy and too expensive now. To come to England and just seeing London is NOT seeing England lol

If you are interested in Tudors at the moment Janice Pembroke Castle is great - it is where it all started!

Jen~

I agree with you that London is not all that represents the beauty of England. But I was speaking about my friends, not me. I enjoy London for a few days to see a few shows, shop, and go to the musueums. But that's about it. I live in NJ and feel the same way about NYC. But when peolpe come to the states what is the place they want to see first...9 times out of 10 it's New York City!

Stephanie~ Yes, Pembroke of course. I am embarrased I forgot! Thanks for the heads up :)

I hate all the tourist places, and want to see the little villages where no-one else goes.

At times I have been called anti-social, what do you think ?

I must be anti-social too then Wolf, I hate all the touristy places as well, I like to go and explore and see the 'real' places, whether they be in the UK or Europe or wherever, I hate crowds.
