Well, tomarrow is another evenign of picking blackberries....and as far as I know my son is taking our boat out for the weekend...kind of last thing before school starts. If we do good on the blackberries, I'll send them over to theisland with some blackberry cobbler maybe...it's suppose to be ho tthis weekend. I'll have to find someplace with air conditioning maybe. Aug. 30th...it was 68 degrees here..unheard offor the most part. Daughter in-law took the boys with her today to take her partime bus route...she's doing another year of half days bus driver, half days college...to become one of those people that holds the instruments for the doctor during surgery. Which means when they aren't working...they are doing homework I guess you know and they like to get in some extra sleep now and then also...when he's not at work, he's helping her keep the house up also. I reember when my younger years were like that....4 to 5 hours of sleep. An 8 to 9 hour daily job as an linen Dept Supervisor, to go home an take care of the house, make dinner...go to college courses at night until about 10 pm...I was taking an Small Business Administration Class, an Supervisory and psychology Class also...while hubby was taking Blueprint classes and welding. We'd tuck in the homework as we could...though my one class required reading a about 100 pages an week. I've also taken an professional women's class also. Interesting. People you meet in these classes. Glad when school starts as it kind of puts things into order for the upcoming Holiday Season also. Several "Octoberfests" coming up and the State Fair this weekend. Until then I'm working on an few clothes for the kids and preserving everything I can get my hands on food-wise. Could use some apples, but not quite ready yet...I finish it off in October with an box of apples, 20 pounds of carrots and 50 pounds of potatoes and several heads of cabbage...maybe some more onions....see how far I get into winter with them. Lots of cabbage and beans, potatoes an pea soup, and carrots shredded up, soup/stew makings. I just found an receipe for diced Corned Beef in an can...an salad....you make the dressing with salad dressing/or mayonnaise...vineager, prepared mustard, dash sugar, dash seasonings and mix it up and then add to it two cooked and peeled potatoes(like an potatoe salad)...and let it marinate in the frige....and right before serving you add 1 1/2 cups of finely shredded cabbage and one 12 oz. can of chilled corned beef cut into cubes..it makes 6 servings. The can of Corn beef here cost $3.19 and the other not much...that's about 54 cents per servingof the meat.An very thrifty receipe. I use to beable to get it on sale for $1.99 an can...now it says to serve this with pieces of Rye Bread and Beer. Might go well with Blackkberry Cobbler later on also. |

Concerned about the impact of uncontrolled development and industrialisation, they set up the Trust to act as a guardian for the nation in the acquisition and protection of threatened coastline, countryside and buildings. More than a century later, we now care for over 248,000 hectares (612,000 acres) of beautiful countryside in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, plus more than 700 miles of coastline and more than 200 buildings and gardens of outstanding interest and importance. Most of these properties are held in perpetuity and so their future protection is secure. The vast majority are open to visitors and we are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve public access and on-site facilities. We are a registered charity and completely independent of Government, therefore relying heavily on the generosity of our subscribing members (now numbering over 3.5 million) and other supporters. We went to 2 NT houses and had a lovely day out, took loads of pics, some of which I posted on POE (of course) |

I'd enjoy going back anytime. I'm just trying to get finished unpacking this weekend and have my place such that I can invite people over. Making lots of friends in my new apartment. I love to entertain. I cleaned kitchen cabinets for my friend yesterday. It was so wonderful to see the look of joy on her face when it was all done. You could see that she felt a weight lift off her. She has done so much to help me out I thought I nice gift back. |
