Storees around here are about 50 per cent full on Christmas Items. There's an lot of stores sitting empty...as people buy only what they need.  they wouldn't be empty if people lowered their prices and the city stayed out of telling them "no" to everything but what they want do. For instance we have an great place that would make an nice small kind of "Comedy Club" but most the tim eit takes an near act of congress to get things through. I think we di dsome things in the past, that woould greatly help the city iof it were revamped....one is the Friday night High School rallies through town...in an U shape, down and around the center blocks of town. ...with the football players in cars/coaches, fololwed by the High School Band...followed by the entire student body. they only use to do it for football games that were played at home also...and Homecoming week also...and only if the weather was good.. This weekend they are having an "Teddy Bear Parade"...about the only thing everyone goes to because they have little kids in private schools...and the elementary schools particiapte also....but they have nothing at Christmas. The tree they get every year is smaller then most the houses in town. People love "live" music"...don't really have to be top entertainment either...but they don't really have that either. You could have an horse and carriage ride...but to where?  Therre's like no point A to point B in town. That's what the young kids when I was growing up had...you cruised the town from point A to point B....or from one end of town to to the other..but then they decided that it made it to congested with trafffic...so no one is there now. Empty streets for the asking. They have an dowtown "city " park..but nothing goes on there. No "open air" Ice skating rink....no downhill skiing practicing with artifical snow..nor skate boarding..yet the park has got an drop down into it off the main street. No " chili" cook off going on...no live local band there in the corner making music either. If even for just one Friday and Saturday night. They don' t even have an ladies long handled  underwear fashion show...where you can make your costume, such as red flannel fire-ladies union suit....or an fashion flair...rhinestone studded underwear with an huge feather boa wrapped around the shoulders and an hat to match...with dainty little boots. Or "Ma's cryin the Blue's again" sitting in galvanized tub, wearing blue...with an sad looking hound dog, and they are both howlin...even if it's an bit of help from an hidden tape recorder, beign pulled down the street....not even an ladies "Candy cane"outfit. But anyway. Couldn't tyou see me dressed as an lighted tree...I could...you know my maiden name was "White"...I could go as the "White House" Christmas Tree...but its possibly to late for that now. I use to have house parties when all th ekids were little....from 2 pm to 2 am....bring an pizza and your own drinks...nothing alcoholic, if your an miner, otherwise only two drinks and you go tyour hand stamped when they were served...you could also bring an friend if you wanted to...and come and go as you pleased....my parties were almost always 75 people strong.  I use to tuck scratch'em lottery tickets in balloons....one whole room of wall to wall computers, movies, games, nightime basketball, pool table in the garage, and music. Plus I gave to the head of the families...some kind of homemade box of goodies...we'd make 17 boxes of food. WE made breads, jams, candy, cookies, and we gave gifts to anyone under 10 years old. I came across those "tie on" little pieces of swede "key chain" purses that you hook onto your tennis shoes...and we put an dollar bill in each one of them. Plus I had contests for the most decorated socks....without feet in them...and most decorated socks with feet in them. The little bigger kids were usually lead around the nieghbor hood with the older family  teenagers singing Christmas Carols. I often made an turkey and an meat and cheese tray also...and snack stuff....but litle of that because we had pizza coming out our ears most the time. I found haiving this 2 pm to 2 am....nearly everyone that worked an shift of some kind still could come to it. It seemed like it took the mothers and dads being there to encourage the older kids to come though. We had guys golfing, playing football, sking, the kids playing pac man and nintendo's mario brothers....the computer wall went over good.If the neighbors came down the street, they were invited automatically to come on in also...join us. Most all the little kids were there, esp in the day light hours. But anyway....so goes.

I was humbled to practically " tears" to see this kind of help with the firewood situation. They figure somewhere four cords good...fir, alder mix. I have the three grandkids tonight...so can't stay on long. Nice to see them back here again safe and sound also. Catch you all later on.
