Hi James...How are you doing today?....I see your buddy "Ron...the lurker"...is in here also. I went out an watered down my front yard, the grass turned brown about mid week...but I made some cheese,  chili and refried beans in one container, cooked it, melted it and swirled the cheese around in it..and fresh salsa in another bowl with tomatoes,  "red"onions, garbanzo beans, cilantro, green diced peppers, some "fire sauce from taco bell, and lime jucie and after it marinated an bit...put it on top the bean dish on an plate, served tortilla chips and ' icy" cold beer...and I had an few sips and hope it doesn' t kill me for doing that...it tasted good in the hot  90 degree plus afternoon....Then I went an bought me an icy "diet coke" and I know people that would tell me that's bad for you also.I bestgeet going, my sister just called, this week starts some of the new season shows on the television set. Dancing with the Stars stars Sept. 19th.

Talk later on...have an good evening everyone!

Good morning....where are you dear POE posters?...we want to know what your up to these days...come on in...anyone heard from Diana as late since the Hurricane went through New England? Wonder where Krissy is at also.

I have my grandson here today from school...sleeping...here beside me....not feeling good...he's been eating everything in site...must of been hungry also...grandkids tend to do that when they come over. he likes his peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches "gooey"...it takes talent to know how to make them just perfect gooey enough.

I was watching the History Channel earlier...they showed an man with an bow and arrow...he showed us an arrow, with an tip on it..then the shaft...and he shot it into an block of  soft clay..it stopped at the shaft. Just the very tip went into the clay before it stopped.  Then he took out an new design for arrows...and it had the tip incorporated into an V shape of metal with it...it went clean through the clay block. Zip!...as they say. He said that he got the design from old Native American heads off their arrows...they ussually tied arrowheads onto the shaft of the arrow. As he said, without an arrowhead, you'd never be able to bring down any kind of game animal...let alone use them in self-defense. So see...you learn something new everyday if your me.Now you know why they use arrow for little kids sets without an arrow head but rather just an tip...it couldn't penetrate anythng longer then the tip of the arrow...bascially harmless if shot at practice....esp in an standing blae of hay with an bullseye paper attached to it.

I guess I should go, cooler weather finally came in and even the animals, as well as the plants looked relieved. I know I'm feeling an bit better...I slept until noon today also. It was wearing me down I think after an week of the heat.  Everyone enjoy themselves, I have some garden things needing taken care of for right now, so later...

Well, James, I find out last night there's several different lineages being given for Sam Huston's wife...I gave you the official biographer of Col. Sam Huston. Everyone seems to have an different story these days. That's what makes the work harder to  do...stuff is coming up all the time that the best of historians have never seen before..

I have an errand to run today...so just dropped in to say hello to everyone before I take off...and will chat later on with you all. Take care of POE...maybe the lurker has an few words to say?
