The 'Sister Fidelma' series is great, James. The autor is Peter Tremayne.

Talking about dowsing, when were were visiting the stones at Avebury, there was a huge groupl of people dowsing. Probably a club of some sort. I must confess, it all looked very odd.

Off out into the desert today to visit with families who live miles out of town in the middle of nowhere. The weather is still nice, so the dirt roads that lead there should be dusty but not muddy.

Thanks Sue..James....well, I'm still here,..I heard that piece of space junk that's coming down tonight just went over Portland about 5 mins. ago...now if I can determine if that's the truth or not.

My feet hurt, I been busy all day long shopping and cooking and packing up food for the guys to take with them tomarrow... as they are hopefully going to chop some firewood for this winter. Made 7 roasted turkey sandwhiches with the "works" and some low-fat brownies, and added them to an box of donuts.. all flavors. and filled packages with fresh red and green sweet pepper strips and carrots/cheese crackers/wheat thins/ frankfurters and oranges/fruited jello and bottles of water., don't expect them back early exactly, plus made an kettle of soup.    I thought they were all  going. but me...but got two of the grandkids here with me tonight. Said if I could get them up and fed by 7 am and they wanted to go yet, grandpa could bring them with him.So I'm thinking of plopping down on the sofa to watch the news and hope the pain in my ankles from being on the go all day long eases up an bit. It's been an busy week for the both of us....besides working all day long...grandpa came home to help the town set up barricades for the "Teddy Bear parade" tomarrow, then helped me pack the cooler and we went out to the kid's house...so I imagine by now he's enjoying the rest before he goes to cut firewood tomarrow. Monday night was grandson's scout troop, Tuesday night was the bigger guys troop, wednesday is out to the kid's house to collect their recycleables for them, they are in an different county, and Thursday night was his first night off to rest...Friday night I l already told you up above what we have been doing, which again leaves us mostly just Sunday for resting up before another week starts...if we arent' stacking wood. I better get going... I'm being tapped on my shoulder by "sissy"she wants to use to the computer....talk later on...she's smiling sweeetly at me right now, reading this also. Winks*

Ok, I'm back again....Sue,  I got an chance to dowse an bit at the vortex in southern Oregon...called Gold HIll, my last true "get away" for some time off....it's weird...as you just hold on and let it do it's own thing. I often wished I had an mental detector at times to play around with also. Have you ever heard of the "Stones of Callanish" in Scotland? It seems stonehedge is not alone. I was many years ago talking  with an college student, whose project was to explore the round towers in history....of which some are off the coast of Ireland also. At the time she was studying Archealogy. Even though we know that most castles had round towers (or square in some cases), for lookout towers...seh was telling me that she was studying "Gaelic" to read their oldest texts....and she felt they they were originally entry points to underground living in some cases. As she said an "mix" also fo the classic lighthouse in its day also. Seh claimed that the ones found off shore, were now under water, but had always to an degree been in the water slightly...she thinks they were slightly above land in the last ice age....flooded as the glaciers melted. Was hoping some early poems would reveal something about them. I was explaing to her my book an ancient building techinques. How the wall around Jersusalem was made at one time so closely placed together in their stones, you could not get an arrrowhead in the cracks of the wall, She was telling me that if you can get an crack in the wall,  you can eventually bring it down or scale the wall, but as she said...if your around water....you would need the stones this close together to keep the water out...and it would have to be stones big enough that earthquakes couldn't move them, large animals couldn't move them either. I never heard the end of her stories on her explorations, but she had been one trip out aready exploring under sea towwers off Great Britain and Ireland for her thesis.  I don't know if she ever learned anything form the Gaelic  text poems or not. Thought it al interesting just the same.

James...I was so dizzy last night around this house, just sitting....I got up and took some of my heart medication and went back to bed. I woke up to find everyone gone for the day, but stuff still here from the kids. Be glad when the heat factor comes down an bit tomarrow. MYcat knew I wasn't feeling very good last night and was checking up on me constantly. I felt hmi kiss me in the middle of the night on my face...then leave. I got up and went out to the sofa...he slept on the floor near by me. My animals and I seem to have more rapport in my health then do the people with me at times. Bell never left my side for days when I got back from the heart operation...times I had little "set backs" she was there. at my side, of her own will. Her head ocross me sometimes.. wanting to know how I felt. I feel an lot of compassion for them.. as they show such "silent" love and devotion of their own... toward all of us. You can see why I stayed so close to "Bell" after she had her cancer tumor removed....I just thought maybe it was time the other way around...and decided she needed looked after until she got up and on her feet. The tumor astopsy turned out it was beign...but for how long,.. as she has other small ones...we don't know and is getting up there in age now also. I go for now and see how much water I can get down me...might of been some of my problems...dehydration. Need an "pick me up" of something...but not booze...it constricts your arteries you know. Talk later on.....

I think you must be one of the most "driven" ladies that I have ever known Shirley!  Do you never let up and take care of yourself?

Hi everyone.  What a miserable couple of days - yesterday we had no electricity for 10 hours and today we have had no water!  So yesterday we were off the air, internet speaking!!  This evening we were getting worried about the situation with the water and managed to get hold of someone at the Municipality (Council) who told us that the equipment had been stolen, that they were working on replacing it and we may get water back sometime tonight.  So we dashed out and bought bottles of water, before everything closed and got ourselves some fish & chips.  This is making packing very difficult!  and I don't work well without a fairly constant supply of tea/coffee, lol. But - at least I can get connected tonight, lol!
