I was feeling very anstsy last night and thought maybe I should come on line to see if there was an earthquake of any singificance.. to find out 1,000 policemen "stormed" the occupy protestors in Los Angelas and Oakland during the night. Mark is correct they aren' t really letting the news media in on what they are doing to these people. There was only an one liner in this morning's news about it. I think the message here is that they are not going to go away...these people need jobs and an place to stay...and they want our freedoms back again to help take care of themselves unhampered by city hall. I read that city officials in LA said the mayor is thinking of overlooking them living in cars on city streets...and not towing their vehicles away.... I would guess because they have no other place to go. That would be an viable solution with the "warming centers" they have opened up for the homeless over winter....where they can get soemthing to eat and an warm place to sit in for an bit..or an cot to stay in overnight. Many don' tlike sleeping in these places because they put those cots next to each other real close and they don't always like what's sleeping that close to them. You can imagine if the person is "sick" and coughing....others don't want their problem. I managed to round up two huge sacks of stuff to help my daughter in-law decorate for the Holidays yesterday and it got sent out to her house. Where have all the blankets gone?....regular bedding type...I see comforters in bag sets at $100 plus...sleeping bags at outdoor stores...furry type throws...an "few" electric blankets....but no just regular blankets...type you can buy separately for the bed....that can be layered. They are getting expenisve anyway as it is. I guess I get going now. Start in on the downstairs today. So talk later on and have an good day everyone! (James....I have since found out that anyone one that was in the area of Tennessee was " forced" to move south into Louisiana/Mississippi or toward Texas... if they were an Native American "Mix" or an "captive" of them... that were not full bloods during the "Trail of Tears"..that were required to break away from the Cherokee. That's probably why Sam Huston went to Texas) |
