Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying a relaxing and peaceful day!

Was out all day yesterday and returned in a very rough storm, got soaked and of course couldn't get on line.  At the moment it looks as though we may be getting another one as the clouds are building up.  So I will see you all later but then again, maybe not!!

Yesterday was sunny...so....took the time to deliver the clothes (gifts) the kids are getting for Christmas,,they didn't get when school started this year....and with an short battle over fianaces....delivered an new sofa to my kid's. As I figure...it was knocked down in price about $140...and couldn't be beat for the price....I've been looking for weeks now.  I told her if she wanted something different to go an buy it and hand me back this sofa for my downstairs if she wanted to do so. At least it's better then the other one...which I have to go out an clean and maybe haul away...but not now.., but I asked her as long as it wasn't smelly to let it suffice for extra people to sit on over the Holidays...I'd try to find something to cover it with...this week is donated to getting ready for Thanksgiving... picking up my sister and cooking the Turkey Dinner...and its suppose to be "stormy" the entire week. I don' t have much energy either..we did the run yesterday to Woodburn for the tree lighting at the Mall...and the music group. Compared to years in past, the crowds were not as big...and the music lacked an Chrismas atmospere, though it was sang very well....I think it was their clothing...they needed the usual red Santa Hats for part of their everyday attire they were wearing. We didn't stay long....had hot chocolate on the way home. But I had had quite an day yesterday....and I told my sister as we picked her up to take her with us... that she wouldn't of beleived what I went through most the day... and she handed me her bible from church...as an way of saying...find some "peace" within "Shirley". So I go now as I have lots to do and rearrange and find and set up before Wednesday. He said he had the propane tanks filled and I hope so if we have stormy weather...as I've found myself in the past having to cope with no electricity to do the dinner with...had to do it on the BBQ. So I go for now and check in when things are an little bit better situated...have an nice Thanksgiving "Sue".....and to the rest of you..cards are all ready to be mailed out to those I have an address for.  MIght do that after Turkey time.  Remeber, this year you can do your Salvation Army Donation by credit card...my how things have changed.

Well, we sound like we have one coming  for the next three days here also...tailend of another pineapple express as they cal them.  You know I don't really want to cook dinner for 8 people with my electricity out. You will never guess what I ran into today....many years ago on an after Christmas Sale....I bought from International Silver...an set of Stainless Steel Silverware....12 piece set, of knives, salad forks, forks, soup spoons, and teaspoons and knives... with steak knives and hostess set included. Just as shining new as can be...so I'm using it here pretty soon for our Thanksgiving Dinner....and the receipt was still in the box...like to blew me over...$24. I've been finding my own Christmas gifts.... just in the nick of time. Must go...Dancing with the Stars" on tonight.

Well, it came in last night with howling winds over at the coast, Mt. Hebo had 97 mph winds...but it stayed mostly into the 35 mph range in Portland. My trees look skinny out front, leaf bare at the top...guess it closed the road on highway 18 near Grand Rhonde Casino..or just past it...tall firs line the road there...took many of them down. Raining really heavy...I got soaked trying to clean out the leaves in my drain out front today. Still working on the Thanksgiving Dinner...had to go an get some wine glasses today....votive candles.. Picked up the pumpkin cheese cake and an tart with fresh fruit on it...asked the bakery lady if she thought it would keep until Thursday...she said  "no problem"...fresh veggie tray for the kids.. and an Mexican nacho bean dip tray also. Just made some boiled eggs, but will finish them later on...and might cut the cubes for the cheese and  fresh grape platter tonight...I bought an lot of stuff this year for an change.....but my main thing is watching the "finals" of "Dancing with the Stars" tonight.

Hey Sue...yep, fully understand...being an retail clerk it was required that we wished everyone an "Merry Christmas" with genuine spirit when I worked...and they don't do that any more...no wonder the stock market is so bad these days.....so I've been taking upon myself to genuinely do this this year to the RETAIL CLERKS....just so they know what it's like to do business back in the old days before "money" was everything...and people were people....and people came first. I did this to the manager today at the grocery store and you know what...he thanked me for being there... and hoped my Thanksgiving was an nice one. Came home and hubby walked through the door with an ham from his boss also. Boneless and fully cooked and ready for an platter of some kind.
