I'm just taking a short break eating a slice of pizza for lunch. (2:20 PM here). Doing a bit of cleaning - my husband's mother will be here next week for Thanksgiving. She arrives a week from Monday, so we'll only see her Tuesday, Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Then she's off to Hawaii for a week.

How to cool down in the heat...I use to take all the kids to an movie in the hottest part of the afternoon...but an quick shower in cooler water also helps and your right Cathy...it's easier to put on an coat then try to live with the heat. Occupy Portland isn't finished yet..they re-covened tonight...was an bit more un-organized...and an bit more rowdy...but nothing that couldn't be handled. Some were protesting going down the street, some were helping to clean up the parks some were in the wrong place and were being escorted out of the area..kind of an bi tof everything. I don' tlike shopping on Sunday's but I did it and I deleivered an 24 pound bird to my brother...and have an 22 pound bird here for my son...my sister has hers...and for us..I'm not in an hurry as if we eat with the kids...it's not as important we have one. But then just the two of us going out to dinner sounds nice also. Not easy to do if you have an large crowd...unless it's pot-luck style. While I was ou tin the stores....this makes the second time I've looked over the magazine rack to see news about William and Kate that is kind of unsettling. I know tabaloids are notoiously big liars for the most part. Coupel of weeks ago they said that she was expecting twins...now this week's said she's dying of Cancer. Either way I hope its not true....she's so small...to small to be having twins....and to be sick with an ilness like Cancer. I am understanding that in some medical sections....Cancer is an illness from being unhappy. She doesn't look to unhappy to me...maybe a bit shy...but not unhappy. We have ahd so many of our family already die of Cancer....from prostrate, to lung...my best friend of colon cancer...it's time it was stopped. Even hubby's nephew...at 27 years old an father of threesmall kids....this is not the way life was meant to be. What comes out of England.... as to the truth of it all...if I might ask. I delivered an 24 pound turkey to my brother for his Thanksgiving(out of town grandkids coming in)...and am holding an 22 pounder for my son and his family...and perhaps us also....and my sister has hers also...an smaller 16 pounder I think or less. I bought them all spiral Hams also...and my son will get some beef steaks to go with his "present" of BBQ equiptment at Christmas Plus I got two roasts for Christmas Day Dinner. I give these away as "gifts" as no one is working, I doubt their boss is going to see they get one....and it is an family gift from me to them...I'll pay for them with my Social Security Check later on. I got such good deals one turkey was 27 cents and the other was 39 cents...the hams were $2.00 an pound less...and the steak $3.00 per pound less. So I'm happy...and not feeling to put out in exhorbant prices. If we do the chineese Food that for us is an night of "take out" eating. In hsort people...I'm rolling right along this year. Presents bought pretty much...food taken care of....time to move on to the decorations and the local events. Cards...I hope to start the cards here pretty soon. Grandson goes bowling tomarrow night here in town with his scout troop and grandpa. I guess they are going to feed them pizza also. First Mall store celebration gala is Nov. 20th.... hope to go an see that one also. Will go for now. Sorry I'm missing some of you and hope all goes well. |

Been off for a while lately trying to catch up on some work. At the end of it, I just want to not look at a computer for a while. Didn't even read the email. We nearly had a fire at our house with a new heater we bought. For some reason, the plug melted into the socket. Luckily we caught it before anything could happen, but the heater's definitely going back! Hope to talk to you all later again. |
