Like all little kids...as was "Astro" and "Drew" and the others prior being eliminated....she cried her heart out....I heard her say as her mother came out to hold her..".Mommie..you promised me!"....that would make an song of it's own I think these days. Maybe they can get together and make an 'Christmas Program" for next year this time. X-factor has been an show with an lot of stress from time to time amoung everyone this year. It goes to show you what happens when you put your "everything" into somethng. Maybe this is an good thing, with little Racheal...as we know the music Industry is not an easy one.. and they accuse it of exploiting the kids already as it is....Micheal Jackson just one of them. I'm listening to Christmas music now How many of you remember the Dec. 10th lunar eclipse is coming up?...I am beginning to felt its prescence. Let's hope the world can stay safe going though it....I go to bed for tonight...it's been quite an day in some ways. I wasn' t expecting to make such long postings here in POE. For those outside tonight...it's going down to 30 degrees and we just passed the ever recorded on history... for Oregon to have so many days in an row around freezing temperatures. Bundle up and stay warm. Goodnight. |

So now I am hoping this will quieten down until early monday morning when I must take Mike in to hospital for them to try another procedure to kill the nerves sending the pain messages to the brain. Hold thumbs that, just maybe, someone does something right this time! Unusual for us we have had more than 24hours of rain and it is cool and overcast at the moment!! Brrr! Hope you are all having a wonderful day and good wishes for a great weekend! |

I must have picked up a "South Africanism" - means the same as "cross your fingers" I suppose. You just tuck your thumb into the palm of your hand and close your fingers over it! |

Ron, if I knew an way to pull one of the pictures in this link I'm about to give you it would be the one with British Toy Guard marching toward an castle....I hope you can all get this link in to see the 13 pictures. The Pittock mansion is one of my favorite houses in Portland, they give guided tours....it sits high on an hill in west Portland looking over the city below it...it was built in the early 1900's by the owner of the Oregonian Newspaper. He also has an building in downtown Portland named after hiim. The house boasts an few exceptional features to it. One I adopted...an winter and an summer bedroom. It has it's own turkish smoking room toward the front of the house, and grand ballroom down an wide curved stairway as you enter the home. Some of the things he incorporated were self watering outside window flower boxes on the window ledges, an small tub for cleaning one's boots...with all around jet spray shower next to it. He has panaoramic views for miles off toward the north and east...last "tea" I went to there.. was with my son and the my ladies "lunch bunch" group many years ago as they had just made one of the carriage houses into an tea room and garden.(Done by the Junior League of Portland). My son was little back then, and thought he was something special in his white shirt and tie with suit. Joyce brougtht along her daughter also...all decked out in an fancy little frock and everyone else I think admired the two little kids.back then. They looked much like little professional executives out on lunch. Here's the link...scroll down in the pictures to the second row to the Library...where this year's theme of "Around the World" has Britain as it's decor. http//photos.oregonlive.com/4450/gallery/pittock_mansion_looks_grand_for the_holiday/index.html Or go to http//oregonlive.com/hg and scroll down to the news article. Tried to create links for you Shirley but it didn't work. Edited by: Ron Brind at:10th December 2011 16:27 |
