They will probably spend as much telling us about them this year.. as they do in keeping them...what'ya wanna bet! I have no idea how this year will go,,,with hubby on Social Security now. I have no idea of how much income we will have...how much our taxes will be at the end of next year...etc....so I'm playing it by ear more or less on things. I'll be conservative most likely. Yes, you know people are suppose to be " waking up" they said and realizing they can think on their own. But there's all kinds of things an person can do to help the world be an better place...for instance...an simple made " bench" for folks to sit on, out curbside.....so while jogging in the neighborhood....some place to rest an bit if needed..tie an shoe string..whatever. Esp if you live on an main street going into town. Passing out an occasional kettle of soup might be nice also. You know our ancestors always had an pot of coffee or tea ready or an bowl of stew/beans or something... for people that stopped by visiting. That might be nice in an time of lots of unemployment. Growing gardens and sharing something from them also. There's all kinds of things an person can do these days. my nieghbor across the street right now is trying to renovate the decking in her yard...which is now 34 years old. Being she works it's taking her some time and then some also..but she'll get around to it. I can remeber when people use to ask me what I thought about the year 2012...I tried to focus on that one time an nothing came up to spectacular....I did feel there was an coninuation of life though on the planet...I couldn't really get in any reading for myself though. It may be as simple as I had no plans when I was focusing on it. I have some inklings about June 16th this year and the eclipse then...but we will see as time goes...mostly to be cautious of it...but I ususally am of all of them...they take an lot of energy out of me these days. They say this is the time to "go with the flow" and I have indeed been doing that this year. Interesting what happens also. Like last week or so when the daughter in-law got ahold of her bus and took us all to see Christmas lights...totally unexpected. Right now I'm building my annual "winter scene" puzzle...no, it's not an POE puzzzle as of yet..but it's an wild one. We got two houses and an church 3/4 built..but it's trickey. Some of the pieces easily fit in places where they don't belong....you find yourself tearing it apart to get it right. I do this in the winter also, so people have an conversation area and something to do... while they get warmed by the fireplace and talk. Besides my kitty cats love the atmosphere also. When I had the dogs here, they did too...and I noticed the birds are chirping here lately also....as if they enjoy the warmth/conversations. I better get going for now. Looks like I'm making New Year's Day Dinner also. We always go out for Chinese food New Year's Eve...get us an fortune cookie for fun. You know what they say....man who "springs" on innersprings.. this spring......has off-spring..next Spring....(prediction). Just an old joke I guess you know. Talk later on....snowing up in the mountains tonight. |

Did you get that blue eyes? Dolores, I suppose you do realize that the avatar that James uses isn't actually him? |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 23:58 on 30th December 2011 Welcome back Delores...I have an Christmas Card here with the rest of the POE people I had addresses for...before they started in closing down our Post offices up here....they didn't get mailed out as of yet. I am waiting to find out what they do next on this... as they've changed their minds already one time. Closed quite an few of them and cut down in hours of operation also. How was Christmas for you Delores? We got smacked pretty good last night with an "white-out" up at mt. Hood east of Portland....the next round comes in tonight....but no snow in the valley where we are at eastside of Portland. Since we are nearly 60 per less in our snow pack...people don't mind this up there right now. We have 2 months time to get it back into average for the water we drink this summer. I hear they want colder temperatures around the Great Lakes also...as they are losing their "Ice houses" they fish in over winter. Little cabins on top of the lake when it ices over. Yikes where the time all go..I better go and get things ready to go out to the birthday dinner here soon....talk later on. |
