Hubby dropped the 1,000 piece puzzle that I had sorted out by color last night...I sipped off his icey cold beer, he was having with potato chips.. and he went to bed, grandson came out an rocked an bit with the kids on TV..then he went to bed, had me laughing though.. and it was just me finishing off the night by myself. They are day two of the Christmas Tree recycle..and I'm on day two of taking down Christmas decorations...and giving that up to go get my sister and start today's Dinner here. My sister called me last night...so she stayed up for New Year's Eve apparently. Windy outside and rain coming in tonight. I feel an bit tired and an bit stiff today ...and hubby reminded me last night if I remember how cold it was 43 year's ago on New Year's Eve...I said no..he said it was 9 degrees outside. I do remember the snowstorm of then though...can't ever forget it. We had cattle being rustled up by police posse and some shot... out our front door from an semi-truck over-turning with cattle in it...trying to get up the hill not far away back then....we had snow to our roof line....lost our electricity..and as we went to my mother's house walking, couple blocks and an street away...we watched the main transformers from Bonneville Dam into Portland "blow" and if you didn't think it didn't look like being bombed in the sky that night....they carry most all the electricity into Portland. Never since then has this ever happened. Next morning all was quiet...trees down everywhere and people in 4 x 4's that could get out were driving around them and through yards to get to elderly parents and people needing help...an week later...you'd never know any of it happened. Hope this year is nothing like that...so far it's been to warm in ways for winter. they did get 16 inches of snow up at Mt. Hood the other night though and they needed it and more to average out normal. Well, lots to do today...so better get going...just taking an short break. Spilling the puzzle, hubby picked it all up for me and found an important linking piece in it at the same time. It's slow going so far though...but an piece here and one there and it will soon be built. Talk later on....Have an good day everyone! Everything resumes back normal come Tuesday and the Holidays of Christmas are pretty well memory now on. Back to dieting. |

Ok, book reading and Valentines' Day ...weather concerns....ususal stuff this time of the year. Kids go back to school tomarrow morning from Christmas Vacation. The professional astrolger"s said last night...this year will be like an fast going roller coaster ride....you'll be an spectator..or possibly caught in all the " ups and downs" of it. Spring see's an great loss of life..probably April somewhere globbally, including USA.....and Novermber see's heavy flooding...the elections will be tested to be tried and true as to the outcome..some surprises there. Things could get touchy international wise...everyone keep an cool head on their shoulders. Some of us hit hard economincally are starting to see things slowly change for the better...but the unrest will continue. With that I go for now...have an good evening everyone. |

Rain hammering down, lots of debris on the roads and generally not nice. Apparently Scotland can expect winds of up to 95 mph today! Wrong thread! Hope the boss don't mind lol Edited by: Ron Brind at:3rd January 2012 11:40 |

Hoping tonight it will stay quiet and dry! Glad you are so much better Sue and planning a trip to England. Oh, my goodness, it's started to rain again, haven't heard any thunder yet but the two usually go together! |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 19:32 on 3rd January 2012 I'm beginning to wonder where "winter" went this year...not that I want an bad one...but even the rain is an bit scarace right now. I'm making an small pot of beans to use up the ham bone off the New Year's Day ham this morning...and then I'll have to go an find the cornbread I do suppose.. to go with it. Small pot...I started watching my diet this morning. Started taking inventory of what's where and needs done also. Remember the book I was reading about this Berkely anthropoligist and teacher...that moved to Hawaii and started having "visions" and is trying to understand them. It's an non-fiction book that tosses him into the future..but he's not sure when... the book was written in 1989. In it he's having an out of body expereince..with this young Hawaiian boy sent to cross the ocean and discover if there's anything left of the West coast past the "mountains" from an disaster of some kind in previous time..something about an wave of water or massive earthquake and tusunmi perhaps...everything now is the city growing with trees out of the buildings...covered with vegetation. The boy had an ancestor that was known for his talent as an navigator in an Hawaiian Canoe, he researched the original way the ocean navigation was done over the techonology of the world in his time...sounded like maybe an grandfather or great grandfather.....well back in 1989...and this anthropolgist meets him in "today's time".. when the book was written...when he goes to an seminar in Hawaii...of those that have made an difference in Hawaiian knowledge. He would like to tell him that he is having future "visions" with his future ancestor but is an bit scared to do so at this time... Interesting reading though. If this book is an non-fiction book it leaves the days ahead an bit scary to me. He says all he see's left of the west coast is in maps some of the people have managed to save from the disaster...but it is now an series of islands more or less...at least to the Rocky Mountains...the boy is to go an see if there's any civilzation left beyond the Rocky mountains. So far he has seen no people west side of the mountains and recently ran across his first dog..and it's mate...but no people as of yet. He thinks he's in California somewhere..but doesn' t know exactly. He landed in an horseshoe.. body of water.. surrounded by mountains. I go for now...have an good day everyone! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 23:54 on 4th January 2012 Good day..not much going on..still working on after Christmas stuff..like changing the bird cage...you know little stuff that needs done once in an while. House down the street from us apparently went through its bank return mortgage...Karen's old house....they came out an put it up for sale by an real estate company and it was handled out of state in Nevada somewhere. I shouldn't say this but I heard last year there was an scam of an mortgage company doing business down there on the Dave Ramsey show. He's an people's conslutant and money finacier. Coast last night was talking about this situation in Iran and them telling us " to get out of dodge" while they do what training manuvers it is they are doing.... as said, one move and we may have us an toasted earth gone astray...by the time everyone backs up their favorite side. Telling our military they can't patrol an area they have been doing for years on end now.... doesnt' sit well with our military. We are fighting right now from them changing one of our primary constitutional laws...of not being seized and incarinated (jailed) without due process of law...or something to that idea....using the term "terrorist" as the wordage to pull this off. It also violates our freedom of speech if they want to go that far. Everyone is wondering how this Rick Santori last night tied Mick Romeny in the cacus vote in Iowa....he was next to unheard of primarily speaking.. and somehow came out way ahead last night. I wonder if he's got drug cartel connections. Shhh!....not allowed to say it... though everyone knows its infiltrating and has been for an long time. I'm glad I'm not running this year...as I don't see it any better as yet from years and years and years ago. But say..smile then think optimistically...it will magically all go away...won't it? I laugh...think I'll go take an bath now..got dinner done.... and have just enough time to do that...talk later on. Besides...everyone know "politcs" is dirty these days. |
