Hi Ron, I'm glad you don't need to have the shirt off me back but, I'd give it up for a mate you know. Mind you, looking at you and comparing with me I doubt it would fit you.

Have a great day all. I am off to watch some nutcases driving 4X4s trying to make them get through or over obstacles suited more to vehicles with tracks.

Well, the birthday went just fine an huge group of people showed up for the BBQ burgers and cake. I got to see my brother's backdoor nieghbor..whose freinds with my daughter in-law for many years. My hubby got the expenisve "electronics" and I gave my grandson an fishing pole and small ice chest on wheels and enough for an day's outting in most anything he needed to go fishing. Plus two sets of summerclothes. Can I say I'm glad it's over now...t'was an huge crowd there...and I so wanted to join the atmosphere of "nature" in an way today. It had me mesermized to want to be outside in ways.I use to be that way..in hot summer evenings..I'd take to the yard swing with my cd's and watch the sun go down listening to my musicuntil the stars came out...in another realm from others. It gives me great "peace". Hope your all having an good weekend.

Weekend is over...time for "werk" again you know. We dd what I call "river check" this morning for our little Sunday morning outting. Columbia is getting up there...but the Sandy River was within normal for this time of the year. Lots of things gearing up for the Rose parade now also in the downtown Portland. Not to much going for Mother's Day this year...son called me late this afternoon and wished me an Happy Mother's Day...by then I was wrestling my summer bed out off my back bedroom balcony. I put an 10 by 10 screened tent over it all and an palstic tarp over that in case of the weather changes...and then used blow up matresses for the futon foundation and blankets over that...comforter at the end of the bed. I still have some cleaning to do tomarrow before it's officially ready for hot summer nights. I got this idea of an summer bedroom and an winter bedroom from the Pittock Mansion in West Portland...it just kind ot resonated with me. Every year I do something an bit different though. I have no wish to wake up staring square into the face of an furry friend in the area...so I like this idea of the the screen to the floor around my bed out there. I have tried tents at times...but the ones we have are either to small or to large. We have one tent that is an 16 foot octogon shape and can be made into five separate areas, or one large one....I generally make it into one large room and three tiny ones...in one of those it's all the things we need but don't want to uppack quite yet...or need to store like golf bags...the next little room is off the main entry and it carries an card table and four chairs for eating inside the tent, or to do crafts....and the third one is an little bathroom area...that can be made private for emergency use at night time....the big two rooms has as your go into it....and table with two chairs and latern/;amp  and made into an conference desk....in front of it use to be an raised queen bed set up...just like at home....and we have an roll around plastic cabinet for our cooking utensils and one for our bathroom necessities....and one for our clothing also. So we don't "Pack" people we keep these filled an ready to roll throughout summer. Because if we take that tent...it's usually an week for Scout Camp.  As you go out the front door of this tent you have an picnic table to one side and and gas Propane BBQ on the other side....covered. It is tis door is about the one only admitted for conferences is the Scout Master and my hubby. We have an smaller tent for weekenders only also...that isn't as eleborate....and guess what...it didn't cost me some $199,000 for the room I have. Yes, I have heaters and if I want air conditioning ....I have that also.

I have been watching both Hotel Impossible and Restruarant  impossible and I'm finding out that both of them have the same problems but in different ways.....and ones that are corrected much in the matter that I used as an supervisor of my department many years ago.  (1)...People that care about their jobs and take responability for them (2)...an understanding of chain of command throughout the entire facilty (3) very important...cleanliness and organization....but not an lot of  picky type"red  tape "to deal with. (4)...The paying customer comes first....so does the problems he/she feels he/she has when he goes to management....they get solved and not forgotten about. (5) the understanding that if your going to stay in business you have to plan to update the facilty periodically. All good things....and all things I've seen people fail to do at timesthat has cost them thier business. So back to werk, it's another week.

Hi Cathy, I didn't have any problems yesterday or today. Must be because you are using a Telkom product!

How are you otherwise, and how is your husband's back?

Hello everyone.

I wouldn't be at all surprised Syd!! :-(

Have had a few annoying health issues recently but hopefully they are being sorted out and Mike's back just is not going to improve, never mind what he goes through!!  As long as they give him enough pain killers then life is bearable!!

Hi James, glad you enjoyed your holiday and hope you had lots of sunshine, good to see you back safe & sound!
