Cathyml...gesh..if your getting false teeth rigth now, do yourself an favor and do it like my hubby did it long ago...he takes them out only long enough to clean them and I've never seen them out of his mouth otherwise...he had any probelms of being uncomfortable he kept going back until they fit perfectly like his own natural teeth and he has no complaints either. My sister got hers and won't go back to get them re-aligned properly so she spent all that money and doesn't like to wear them. So sad..life was not meant to be that way. With my weight problem I'm in no hurry to get the rest of my dental work done so far...would rather do it next summer sometime...I have no problem eating smaller portions of food if need be.

We had an book writer that died here in Portland and not to much being said about it from his family. The cause of his death is being withheld from the public apparently..maybe you have heard of him..David Oliver Relin who co-wrote the novel called "Three cups of Tea'...he wrote it in 2007 with partner Greg Mortensin and it was on the New Yorks Best seller list over the next four years.  Sounds like later on there was an dispute in his partnership though over the book. That was questioned one time on the TV Documentary Show called "60 minutes" in the past. He went on to write another book that was due to be released this February. He traveled world-wide and wrote at one time for Parade Magazine across the Sunday edition of the newspapers...he apparently knew some people in high places also..President Obama once donated $100,000 to an charity he founded called the Central Asia Insititute...to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He was apparently suing his partner over the use of his charitable funding.  Family wishes there be no autopsy either. Does not say if he was living here (in Oregon) at the time of his death either...or if the funeral will be an local one or an thing about it. Nothing on his childhood either or his age. Looks like maybe mid-40's to 50's though...could be an younger picture of him also.

Getting that out of the way....tonight is "X-factor" though I might be roasting the butternut squash during some of it...for tomarrow. James don't loan out your false teeth please...I was talking to some of my physic freinds after dad's death...and I hear....This is strange?..what do you want?...Ok...I have an message here from some guy sitting an a table, looks like he's in an cabin or has an wall of wood panneling..he says he's missing his teeth..he apparently has false teeth...and he'd like them back...well, I knew when he described the room it must of been dad. But I didnt' know he didnt' have his false teeth so I asked my step-mother the next day..she said "No, I didn't let them burying him with his false teeth..I thought maybe they could help some one that can't affod theri own"...he was buried, he was "creamated". So I alsed her if she'd go " BBQ" his teeth and put them in with his ashes...but rather she ever did I have no idea. Maybe they got an remedy for him on the "other" side? I can't say I've ever dealt with this kind of an conversation before. But nothing to much surprises me any more. Trying to go shopping with all the people today.. I was having an hard time "focusing" on what things I needed to get. Felt like I was going in circles though until I got out of there. I go for now. Have an good evening!

Hi James and others. I hope all of you are well as I am.

James me old mate, I am sure if I snipped him myself I would have traumatised the poor mutt forever. With my poor knowledge of veterinary procedures I would probably have cut his tail off too and the other piece of anatomy in the area. No, rather pay the dogtor to do it. R700 isn't a bad price. (about GBP 55) I will remove the stitches my self though in 9 days time.

Cheers folks, another full day tomorrow so i am off to bed now. Must have my beauty sleep you know.

Bye

Taking an break...all I have left is the  wrapping the chestnuts in bacon and putting them with the spring greens and making the pumpkin vinegrette(with an bit of apple cider)....I've made both styles of green bean caserole and the green bean mushroom weight watchers' dressing...the butternut/sweet potato roasted side dish with the  ham/ fresh sage/garlic fried topping on it, cornbread dressing with red/green peppers and onions, celery and whole kernel corn. Strawberry cheese cake un-thawing also...but she has pumpkin cheese cake and apple pie also out at my daughter in-law's also, and I have the little weight watchers frudge desserts for me.

I hear that Tucson, Arizonia's newspaper with black Friday ads was 870 pages long. Maybe someone is pulling my leg,,,but ours here was rather "huge" also...and looking through it..I can't say that I have over paid  on anything that I bought before hand.

Just finsihed watching Macy's Parade in New York...Santa made it. I've known him for some time now I think. He came though my check out stand one year at the retail store..when I was the cash cashier...and I heard him way down the line..joking and so merry sounding...and I was so busy I dare nto look up from my machine...and so it was I smiled and rang up his purchases, and said the coustomary "Have an Merry Christmas"...and then...he stopped me dead in my tracks...and he grabbed my hand and he looked me straight in the eye....and said...and YOU..Have an Merry Christmas..winked...and took off laughing an was all Merry like anSanta should be...left me astonded to say the least. I've been around an lot of people since then saying they are Santa...but hewas the only one that made me think..this guy is real!...nothing phoney about him.I think kit was coming from  the inside "out" maybe.

Well, I'm off for now...weather fairly decent this morning also. Good day for Thanksgiving... and "giving". It was nice to see them in New York giving out free "Turkeys" to the Hurricane Sandy victims. Maybe no house left...but therre's still "family" to hug. You can replace "things"...you can't your loved ones and family. Life is short..and we need to make good use of it while we can. Talk later on........ BRING ON CHRISTMAS!

I am havign such an case of  veritgo since last night you'd think I was an acholholic or some such and I have two medications that say I can't drink point blank any such type drinks. My hubby decided that he was giving up the going out and cutting down an fresh Christmas tree..he's now out buying at artificial tree. If eh does that, I can put up the tree earlier this year.  Dinner out at the daughter in-law's was the grandparents only this year for guests. I kept to my "weight watchers" menu as planned also...no pie. They gave my hubby some, but I passed on it. I've been eating "surgar-free" for some time now as it is..I'm ready to go back on an newly reformed diet for over winter now. My neighbor is out there picking the leaves up by hand in her corner yard of an border under pine trees. It amazes me she does this and it takes the good part of an day to do it also. Why I have no idea..as she has no flowers under them at all. I don't think I'd have such patience for it all.  We brought the youngest grandson back with us last night so they could go to the 12 midnight Black Friday sales....he stayed last night....and have yet to go get my sister...take him back home again. Busy day coming up...and I'm not driving. Not until I return to somewhat normal again. So here's hoping all this goes away quickly today...as I've lots of work to do.Thanksgiving decorations are already down....ready to be put away. Hum...they call it "retirement"....I dont' see any retirement going on so far. Talk to you all later on..have an good day!

Oh, 195,000 people showed up last year to see the Portland zoo lights and the area turned into an "Winter Wonderland"....at least $10 an person....wonder if they break even moneywise.. . it's got an LOT of lights to it. Train ride through it...which we ususally take.. costs an bit extra...it's nice to sit down and then we go for hot cocoa...and head back through Portland on our way home. Tonight they light Portland's "Pioneer Square"  Chrisitmas Tree...as you know I bought an "family brick" when they were building it and I was the "reunion President" that year...my brick reads...SK Larkins- White-Lawson family...I shoudl of kept the cetificate...Austin family kept it instead during the reunion that year. After so many years and thousands of people, I wonder if you could even make out the engraving on the brick any more. They ussually set up the stageover about where the brick is at every year. Text thsi morning is really jumping all over...better go for now and see if this posts correctly...most likely not.

Hope you feel better soon Shirley and don't let James know how you are doing it, or he'll want some of it!
