That's good news Peggy Smile

Could do without the storm this evening we're walking down into the village for a meal.

I did it was lovely thanks John Smile We were at a restaurant in the village, we've been going there for over 20 years and it's always good. I don't think the menu's changed in all the years either.

Peggy is very quiet Undecided Hope all is OK with the laptop.

I think she'd asked them to wipe the hard drive Dave, which means she'll be busy for a while putting everything back on it.

Aye, it takes a bit of time depending on what and how many programmes you have. Whenever I reinstall my XP I generally write a complete day off to complete the job

I lost count of how many days I wrote off in 2007 reinstalling everything after several factory resets of Vista on David's old laptop Frown

I dont do the resets, or repairs as they call them, I have an XP disc and install absolutely from scratch. The process takes about an hour and reformats the entire disc in the process so you theoretically end up with a brand new system. Put a newer bigger hard disc in a couple of months ago and being a few years newer than the disc that was in, the pc seemed to be running on rocket fuel but by the time all the programmes etc were reinstalled it slowed a bit, but still much quicker than the old disc. It is something well worth doing with older machines now and again
