Hi Ruth, that seal is just gorgeous. I’m really not sure where Donna Nook gets it’s name, it was an RAF base from 1927 until 1945 it is still used to this day by the RAF for bomb practice. I do believe it was also used as a prisoner of war camp during the war. It opened as a nature reserve in 2002, I haven’t been there now for well over 30 years but would love to visit it again for old time sake, it was always a very lonely desolate place, I still love places like that to this day.
