The rain has gone (sounds like a lyric from a song) and there is a stange big orange ball in the sky which is sucking the grass ever higher. Let's hope it lasts because I am going to a concert this afternoon in the stadium at the local showgrounds. About 10 local bands will be performing. Some strange names amongst them like "The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters" and "Splayed Ferret". Never mind the odd names, they are good bands. The concert is in aid of a local drummer, singer and recording studio owner who had an accident causing him to become a paraplegic. Tragic. My brother-in-law invited me to go with him and about 10 women. Nice of him to want to share his harem with me. I will let you know how it turns out. Have a good day folks. By the way is the sun shining in Pretoria too Cathy? Bye |

Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 16:02 on 8th September 2012 The owners of the Mobile Home Park have thrown in the towel. Following is the letter that I receieved today, with the name of the park omitted for the time being. They are forgetting one very important fact, and that is that it was me who raised the Formal Complaint in the first place to which the owners have yet to respond so this isn't over yet by a long way! The letter reads: Dear Mr Brind Our client has no further comment to make. There is little point in continuing to debate the issues. Our client's position is that the speed restrictions on the park will be maintained. As a private land owner (name of their client) is entitled to place such limitations on the driving speed of its visitors and residents. If there are any further reports of you speeding on the park and/or reports of threatening or abusive behaviour by you towards its staff, our client will take further action. Our client considers this matter closed until such times as the position changes. You are not required to respond to this letter. Yours faithfully... My response: Their client is not going to be let off the hook that lightly! They haven't answered my formal complaint, nor a single accusation that I made against the solicitor, or yet demands made of the site owner and the warden in a 5 page letter defending the rights of the park home owners, and in particular Don. So the purpose of this post today is to keep things documented for when I am ready to name and shame the site owners. As for their Solicitor threatening me with the statement about 'speeding, threatening or abusive behaviour' by me towards their clients staff, well that really is the red flag to the bull, because this is exactly why I have won this case. I haven't been aggressive, threatening or abusive, and they know that I am on ten feet of concrete. My advice to the Solicitor...wind your neck in, it's not over yet and you will be getting a further response from me!

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 17:54 on 8th September 2012 Good Morning everyone...had an 3.5 quake last night south of me near Mt. Angel...an very old fault line in the area..no damage but kept others awake...as it rattled more through south west Portland then any other area. Poor Prince Harry...I forgive him for being youthful in his partying...but they are now sending him to an tour of duty in Afganistan. Keep safe Harry...I have an grandson growing up that reminds me much of you. While all this was going on last night, I was reading my book...and it's getting dicey also....Gawen marries his beloved Sianna ...in an fantastic powerful "Beltane" Festival ritual...as an King and makes her his Queen...her mother already is an Fearie Queen...and along comes Father Paulus ready to tear up thier ritual center, well, that leads to an fight with the 10 Roman soliders that came along with Father Paulus...it ends up with the soldiers dead...but at the end of the battle they put an spear through Gawen"s chest, and then coverged to hack on his body with swords before they were likewise killed in reprisal. Knowing the Romans will come back to find out what happened to their soldiers...they worked " magic" and "cloaked" Avalon into an half world of reality and magical...into an mist...and such as others can't see them, in hopes they can recover and perhaps Gawen might not die. Though he probably from the marriage ceramonies left Sianna...pregnant. That's where I left off last night around the time we were having this earthquake apparently down by Mollala/Mt. Angel area. I woke up this morning to danergously low Blood sugar readings, if they were correct. I to... like the RN... instructor yesterday... had problems with the testing strips not accepting the droplet of blood. She gave me some others before I left the office and they callled from the place sells them yesterday and are sending me out an motnh's supply of new ones, and I hope some of the Lanclets also. So I can be an true trubador in today era of having an lance to do in my problems with in life...HA! Yep Ron, an "Scumbag" indeed..or they would of worded the letter differently. They may be another of these now a day "wonders" that forget the mighty dollar as an paying home park resident is better then having no one living there. He could of said, we are posting an slow down sign and hope that everyone can reply to this sensibly as to insure the safety of our residents. Contact us at such an such phone number if you have any suggestions to help us with this matter......... but I see they didn't. Scumbag...yes indeed. Now you can add them to the Scoundrel list as well. Perhaps the parking lots should be on the backside of the mobil home park...so as not to be around the front half of the residences and there won't be so many people to be concerned about also...an new and very hot idea to the crampped up cages they sell these days for "housing" is to make alley ways out back for the car traffic. that way the existing driveways look more like wide sidewalks in front of the houses...but it does give people the area to have people in them, an places for the people to do things needed like building things,..or playing basketball....or grow gardens. You rpark owner should see what's going on with the houses the bankers are taking back over here,..people are literally destroying them in many cases. When the renter's are being dispalced as they take the homes back from the owner...well, let's put it like this...they like to run into an ddent the garage door if possible....it's costly. But these banks forclose on them and say out of the blue to be "gone" in after the next three days, leavign the renters wonder what they did.. and it's very hard for an family to come up with something to live in that quickly...and it's an pain in the butt to have to move usually. So they leave...with the place in an mess....feeling revengeful. Most the neighbors understand thier unhappiness of not having an 30 day eviction notice to these houses also...as an paying renter. But anyway. We were talking about that...it's not unusal over here to see the houses the bankers took back without anyone in them for an year or better these days. People buying them don't like dealing with these bankers either. They fear they will cheat them also into buying an house that is not worth the price they paid, or that they slipped in something slightly crooked in the contract...so they end up losing it years down the lines an dmoney out of their pockets on it also. Looks like sissy is finally up an bit this morning so should get going for now. Peggy, your correct, if these guys don' t notice us what should we do, go in for" big booby" transplants or stuff tissues in an bigger bra?... Just kidding. (Pun intended)..smiles* |

That letter seems somewhat insulting to me from what I have read. They have adopted a high-handed attitute if you ask me and need bringing down to earth. The concert today was great. I didn't realise what an amount of talent we have in our neck of the woods. The people I met were very nice and a good time was had by all. Now for the weather to clear to I can learn to play lawn bowls. I will then have enough of a social life to keep me occupied. I hope the 'quake near you didn't cause any damage Shirley. Keep well all and good night from darkest Africa. (Just joking, the lights are on tonight.) |
