Lucky you Smile

I've made things a bit better by buying a very cheap deep fat frier from Tesco, at least this way I can cook the stuff in a nice beer batter. Not very healthy but at least it's more like proper fish & chips Smile

Thank you all for your kind words.

Well, desert Nevada has been hit by several huge thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall. Its been GREAT!

Last night my son left the  house in a huge dowmpour, lightening flashing all around, and this morning at 4:30, my husband left in a huge down pour. The storm right overhead and the thunder deafening.

We've turned our sprinkler system off seeing that we're getting some good moisture from the Heavens.

Its going to be a beautiful day today though with temps foredcast back up into the 90's.

Hope your day is going well.

Oh  Ruth I wished You were closer I could really help you out with fish, I have never had pate of any sort don't really know how it is made. Lowestoft used to be a large sea port my Mum used to go on the market with a fishermans bag and it would be filled with herring straight off the boat, now I buy them tinnedCry

I don't think I've had herring Peggy, but fresh Mackerel is lovely, I much prefer it to any white fish, so long as it's filleted and every single bone removed - if I see a bone in a piece of fish that's it, I can't eat it. I'd be no good at all going to a fish restaurant where they give you the whole fish on a plate covered in sauce.
