I had a text message this evening asking me for 5 pound for the tornado appeal, how on earth did they get my mobile number as I do not give that only to family

Just made a batch of Cranberry Chutney. You should smell the house, WONDERFUL!

Can't wait for it to cool down, then have it with homemade roll and a nice bit of cheese. I have a nice bit of Welsh cheese in the fridge, that will do nicely.

Snow on the mountains this morning. It can stay up there and just rain down here, thank you.

Lovley day though, sun is shining albeit chilly, it has a nice little smattering of warmth.

The Cranberry chutney sounds lovely Sue. I can almost smell it from here Smile

Peggy,  automated dialling machines trying random numbers until they get one that responds, whether it be text or a dialling tone is one I've heard of. I think all UK mobile numbers start with 07, so they just work from there.

Send nothing via your mobile Peggy. The chances are it's a scam!

Yep, it's probably an scam...we got two more calls tonight I think along that line...we didn't answer them..let them go onto our message phone. The rain tonight is cold coming down, and it's snowing like all get out up at Mt. Hood...they figure 6 to 9 inches of snow above the 3500 foot level and then come Saturday it's lowering down to the 3,000 foot level and another dumping of snow for an total of proably give or take an foot of the "white stuf" .before Monday comes. Probably why I had the headache earlier. I took itthe the store and shopped some more...all kinds of new items at the Goodwill today...no wonder the store it literally "Packed" with cars. Brand new at Kohl's.. $25 long flannel ladies night gown...I paid $6.99..and it's still brand new. I spent an afternoon of this, to the tune of over an hundred dollars. All new gifts, still in original packaging...at 1/3 regular cost. But I found an book...and very old book...re-edited by an lady from England...Yorkshire in 1989. I must share this ..and all it's says of it for the author...is the word...Traditional. Though another short story was said to been from 1661. Tell me if any of you remember this...it is called "Glouceshire Wassail"....yes.... its an small Christmas Book...with wonderful old time pictures of England in it at Christmas.

Wassail, Wassail, all over the town!....Our toast is white, our ale is brown......Our bowl it is made of the white maple tree,....With the wassailing bowl we'll drink to thee.

And here is to Dobbin and to his right eye....Pray God send out master a good Christmas pie....and a good Christmas pie that may we all see....With our wassailing bowl we'll drink to thee.

The old time print behind this song looks like an group of men in an pub singing the lyrics maybe with an oversized huge fireplace crackling to the side. Probably those POE guys...I noticed there was several receipes and one of them was for Goose.

I'm thinking of making an pan of brownies and an pan of the pumpkin bars....frosting them....and then cutting them into pieces and splitting them in half an sending out half of this for the kids this Sunday and keeping the other half in the freezer for Thanksgiving Day here. Then maybe I can add some Christmas cookies as they leave dinner on Thanksgiving Day...with left overs. So..no time to waste...three days taking it easy is about the maxium around this house...talk later on.

Morning everyone, just sat here waiting for our eldest son and daughter in law to arrive from Germany. We know the plane as landed at Manchester but we haven't heard a thing from them yet, they're probably still in a queue waiting for a hire car. They could be stuck in traffic on the dreaded M62 Frown
