The book in the box tells you how to put the hand strap on it (that was the fiddly bit) how to put the SD card in and how to insert the batteries. The rest is on a CD which I can't be bothered with so I found the online version instead. But I suspect the CD has just as many pages. It's nothing fancy a Canon Powershot SX150 IS, it does a lot more than the elderly Fuji I'm using now, but it still fits in my pocket which is the main thing |

I haven't read it all yet but look at this link. http://sf.massart.edu/docs/vl1/Canon-PowerShot-SX150is-UG.pdf

Time for picking up and cleaning up and getting rid of and you all know how it goes after Christmas.... So I guess I better "get to it " maybe. |

It's been a good one here too, but I must say I'm glad it's over. I've spent most of my time in the kitchen, and when I've spent so much time cooking the food I never seem to enjoy eating it John, our neighbours put their paper recycling out, goodness knows why they're not due today. You can imagine where all the paper is now, and they'll never think about going out and picking it up. Edited by: rustyruth at:27th December 2013 14:54 |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 21:57 on 27th December 2013 I'll have to write that little tidbit down about the meaning of Lawrence...I'v e heard something else...the family of the "son of Lars" was one of them I think. My sister is an ardent Catholic, her name is Lorraine, and her maiden name is Ferrante...I like to use to refer to as "Ferrari"...the car, I keep telling her they are changing historical data all the time these days to appease the people in what they want to be related to whom... for what reason. My specialty in this work was the travels paths of the famiies across Europe and into Colonial America. I can generally listen to the story they tell me and know immediately rather it rings an bell in my research work... very few of the early people travelled by themselves..... and often married into the families of neighbors. I have also had to learn every culture you can think of and how they influenced the building of Colonial America. Dna work helps considerably these days also. Plus the history of the areas your researching in. I watched the tv show 20/20 last night on "Mysteries of the Castle" with beyond Downton Abbey Castle. So this one castle's expenses to operate it yearly was over 8 million dollars plus. It's historically well known that the bigger the building the more apt it is to be an Museum or take in Guests or tour facility....zoo or something to help off set the costs of running it. It helps to save the building intact these days. Though I was surpirsed having had the Rensssance period and onward stamped into my mind as an kid learning period furniture and furnishing...how much has changed these days. No huge long tapestries to help insulate the rooms...gold guilded furniture. That kind of came out of the "alchemy" processes of the templar knights by way of the churches and roayalty also..as metal works took off rampant. I covered an bit of that in my last book series about "Gold". Paintings have alway adorned the tall walls as well as the libraries also. Also the decorations using weapons on the wall. Interesting show for me on how things have changed through the years.. Started taking down Christmas decorations today...my house fits in better today with the miniumlist look for most people now. Though my hispanic landscaper businessman came over the other day...came in for the first time... and couldn't believe his eyes...and said...you have an very beautiful house...and he looked like he meant every word of that also.. I felt the hospitall my brother was at though, which I was affliated with most of my life borrowed my Christmas Theme this year though...but their decor looked nice also. But still...time to start taking it all down untel next year. This morning I geared things to just leave the Le Max Christmas village and the Christmas Tree and poinsentta plants until New Year's Eve.Christmas scene pictures on the wall. So I better get going for now...am looking into starting my next book series soon...and an new diet. Sorry to hear about your weather...though we have been putting up with it for some time now destroying everything. We are now getting it through our heads to think more survival preparation, have an pantry we can use.... and try to right the potential of any problems before they happen if possible. Yep, it takes money, so it's slow going these days. Word has it everytime you go shopping to try to buy five cans of soup/or an stable...and something along the line of survival. My last one was an box of ready made " rice krispie" cereal bars...and time before that one case of no refridgeration needed.. orange juice. Time before that 12 cans of soup with pop-top cans....6 hearty chicken noodle and 6 beef and barely vegetable soup. It's an on going project year around. Talk later on...have an good day everyone. |

Back at work today and although no one at work suffered any serious weather attacks , it seems quite a number of us all seem to know of someone who has been deluged and had the dredded water at home for Christmas. It appears that the local crematorium is not immune and all funerals are cancelled for at least a couple of weeks. On a brighter note distillation has been resumed ( and without the need for new elements ) , just elbow grease and getting a bit on the dirty side by muggins here with wire wool removing contaminents from inside the still.( and saving the bosses a bill or two as well ). Nice to see James back safe and sound and trust John survives the battle at the front door. Seems Ruth never rests- if not in the kitchen , chasing wind blown pots. Whatever christmas fallout is on your doorstep, may it soon pass and better fortune await you in 2014. |
