South to North. I started taking down Christmas decorations...and have only the trees left and some pictures to re-hang. My hubby and his presents always present me an problem...he gave me an long robe couple of days ago, and I was so out of it that I went shopping for some PJ's to match it...of course no one had white that will match anything. I could not recall the color of the robe today...I fighured it was either pink or red though. I ended up after going through everything in two stores...the only pair of of black pj bottoms with arrows running through the pattern horizontaly to tiny hearts in tourquoise and pink...white arrows on an black background....so they should match either the robe he gave me or the one I have in light turquoise...so I came away feelling good about that into the snow furries going on outside...1 1/2 inches in west Portland...not sticking here but they figure this will be going on for another 2 days off and on. Working on my puzzle...about half of it finished and then I'll go into reading books for an bit. TV shows are kind of so-so right now...but the fireplace is warm and crackling. I like meat loaf with plenty of ketchup on it...and then cooked...don't ask me why, but I made an big one couple of days ago and haveI everr been going to town on it in sandwhiches ad dinners. You know mashed potatoes and veggies and salad...yummy!...cause I havent' been able to eat much here lately...and in ways don't need to either....but just the same. Warm meal/new PJ's"/crackling fireplace...I'm getting mellowed out. So..I go now and see what fuzzy blanket I can wallow around in for tonight for relaxation time....talk later on! |

Sk Lawson![]() Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 21:31 on 29th December 2015 Meat Loaf...I hear I make an very good one....three slices of bread torn up, couple generous shakes of worceshire Sauce, 2/3 cup of milk, 2 beaten eggs, little garlic powder, generous shake of Ms. Dash salt free substitue, one small chopped up onion....at least 2 pounds of good grade hamburger/ground chuck...mix it with an spoon, until well incoporated, and mound it into an baking dish..over the top spread an gnerous portion of ketchup...I like to make with an fork lines in it...lke this (#) and then sprinkjle with dried parsley. Bake 350 degrees for 1 to 1/2 hours depending on how much meat you use. Last 15 mins pour off an fat in the dish and add more ketchup if any ran down the sides. The ketchup has an unique flavor doing it this way rather then adding it to the meat and then cooking it. Let is cool slightly...serve with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, French fries, baked beans, chili, just about anything and an good green salad. If you over cook it an bit, there's this wonderful like crusty edge to it also. When it's cooled, it makes good sandwhiches with maynoaise or miracle whip also. Reason I don' t want you to use your hands to mix it up is because an chef says that it makes the meat heavy in bulk...and doing other wise will make it more lighter when it cooks. You can add about anything in it also, like an cheese center if you want..spaghetti...peppers...etc.You can also drop the ketchup and make an brown gravy for it also. Your choice. Ok, Christmas decorations are down pretty much, we took the tree down yesterday. Livingroom is cleaned up and I'm into my bedroom today and washing bedding and towels. Hubby's birthday on Dec. 30th and New Year's Eve and day and it's prety well over until Valentine's Day comes rolling around. I'm having some slight issues with the medicine I was just taking but not to bad, I just rest a bit more, you know fugicides affect the rythum of one's heart....resting seems to make it go away...I'm off the meds now anyway. So I go for now and keep cleaning thiings up around here from the Holidays. Talk to you later on...Have an good day everyone! |

That's why I'm in tonight...can't sleep...usually when they happen for me, had an long left ear tone tonight...thought I'd check it out...as I felt an jolt here at the house...before I knew this quake had happened. Could be the aftermath waves of it coming through through the ground. Outside Christmas decorations are now done.....and it's now offically my hubby's birthday...so it's dinner out tonight. Got my washing done, some clothes to fold and it's all caught up as well...I think we are normalizing things out pretty good right now from the Holidays. It is now 1:38 am my time. Talk to you later on.... |

Sk Lawson![]() Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 05:23 on 31st December 2015 Good evening guys...Yes, we went to Chinese Happiness Restruant and had our New Year's Eve dinner for his birthday tonight...he turned 70 years old today. My son's coming over tomarrow to help him with the car parts that finally came in and his boss has been extremely nice to him also, in lending him an company pickup this last two days to get to and from work...so I sent them back an big platter of snacks this morning from Hickory Farms meats and cheeses..and fresh sweet pepper slices and crackers...mainly the office crew...inventory and shipping time and that is what he does for them, except when it slows down and he helps in the office with the phone calls and such. He has his own computer area otherwise. I did his "man cave" most the day, talking down Christmas stuff and so I think we have it all down now top to bottom of the house and outside also. I jusr sent up an small chocolate cake on his table down there for snacking on also...some fresh fruit. I'm getting ready for the cold weather coming in and it feels like it outside already...everyone is ready for playing groundhog time and staying into thier burrows out of the weather....and warm. His youngest sister callled him from back east to wish him an happy birthday as we were driving down the road tonight. Or at least I think she's still in Missouri. He asked her if she was safe and sound for this winter and she said she thought so. Few snow flakes but not like up north of her. I was watching an weather man say tonight that this wild south to north weather pattern is the cause of the Global North Pole ice pack melting. It needs to be changed back normal again....and I do believe it can be done. Anyway, we both got good fortune cookies tonight...esp. hubby. Mine said I'd be more involved with family pretty soon...well, one does granduate this year from High School...and then what? I guess I go for now...while I was down with this fungal infection...I've lost nearly 10 pounds(2 weeks)...lowest weight I've been as yet for many years. Have an nice New Year's Eve everyone!.......here comes 2016...make it the best yet. |
