Mitch Miller ( 1911-2010 ) musician, record producer, and TV personality with his 1960s TV show, Sing Along With Mitch.

As head of Mercury Records and then Columbia, Miller introduced such names as Rosemary Clooney, Frankie Laine, Percy Faith, Tony Bennett, and Ray Coniff, though he didn't think Buddy Holly worth employing. A gift from him to Doris Day became her biggest hit, Que Sera Sera.

It's been years since I saw the 1963 Paul Newman movie Hud which Patricia Neal won a Best Actress Oscar.  She was the wife of British novelist and short story writer Roald Dahl, 1953 to 83.

How'd this one get missed?

R.I.P. Norman "Hurricane" Smith, 1923 - 2008. Record producer, sound engineer, entertainer, and WWII glider pilot.

He was the engineer on all of the EMI studio recordings by The Beatles until 1965 when EMI promoted him from engineer to producer. The last Beatles album he recorded was Rubber Soul. Smith engineered the sound for almost 100 Beatles songs in total.

Hi Bob; probably because this was a year before this thread was started.  He's listed as Producer on my Pink Floyd Piper At The Gates of Dawn album, and apparently, produced Pink Floyd's next three albums as well.
