Nice to see you, it's been a while since you came and had a chat. Mike's big back op was many years ago when they put in a metal disc replacement - and he has had nothing but problems ever since!! Everything they have done subsequently has only left him worse off. So I have to admit I am being very sceptical at the moment. Until the injections and anaesthetic wear off he will probably be OK - but then what........................? I hope you will be back before Christmas - but just in case you are not - Geseende Kersfees!! Edited by: cathyml at:14th December 2011 18:02 |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 18:33 on 14th December 2011 I'm still catching up in the threads here, but it sounds like Mike is doing "OK" for right now...I'll have to go back and read what kind of operation he was having as I thought it was an different one then discussed the last couple of pages. Well, had lunch with my sister and Mary yesterday...as planned and came back to the house for Orange spice Tea and fruitcake and assorted Christmas cookies....today I go to Party City or Dollar Tree to buy 29 stocking stuffer gifts for my grandson's Christmas Party at school. My daughter in-law is into her "finals" this week and she is limited to what she can do I told her I missed the kids... being I've been so busy... and she said...you can have them...as I'm so much into my tests this week, I barely have time to talk to them...I told her next week, I'd come an get them an couple of days for her...so she can rest... but will go out there tonight to deliver this stuff and I want to see my son also. Hubby just finsihed off his physical and "shots" in both his arms... sore....they gave him his "bee" medications for this year also. He is allergic to bee stings you know. He had to go into emergency one time for the swelling. I am hearing all kinds of things about England right now that is most unsettling....from the European Union...to the civil strikes...to some kind of 200 MPH winds going on. Don't know what quite to believe these days any more. They are closing so many post offices over here right now...they are waiting to close down the six major station across Oregon until after January, after people said to hold it over Christmas for an week ro so...but packages are going through OK...because private companies are handling them...it's the Federal Post Office and letters mosly...they are trying to thwart off bankruptcy I guess...with cell phones and computers they feel the "small talk" can " go" in the form of cards and letters...or at least down to an very minium. So there goes the "coupons" in the mail also. Can't save an dime these days if an person tried any more. I wish they'd start putting them out at the store enterances...via flyers. Anyway stopped by to say that I hope all is going well for everyone and will talk later on. We had an nice lunch yesterday with Chicken Florentine Soup (Olive Garden Restuarant put in an "new' soup menu special.... and the green salad and bread sticks(unlimited)....cookies and tea finsished things off nicely...at my house. Have an good day everyone!.... Now comes the doing things of Christmas. Decorations are up pretty much for this season. |

Tomorrow is a public holiday here too. (Bank holiday to you folks in England) We're off to Johannesburg tomorrow to visit the offspring and grand children for 3 days. Hope the weather clears up. We don't much like driving in the rain. Hmmm, I guess that would be commonplace in England eh? Hope your Mike is doing ok Cathy. All the best. |

And you should be ok coming up from 'Maritzburg tomorrow! Although Mike is very stiff in his back he is actually doing very well - and even more whoopee is he has managed to fix the stove - so now I can do a roast! Travel safely - there are likely to be a lot of cars on the road as many places shut down today for Christmas! Edited by: cathyml at:15th December 2011 18:13 |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 20:57 on 15th December 2011 Hi everyone!...good to see you Julie...been anwhile. You get moved? Well, it snowed last night....up the Gorge on the Columbia River from Troutdale to Hood River. " Pretty" type snow also. Not to dangerous...interstate is still operating and probably black top by now...because of all the traffic. Sure brings on the Holiday feeling. I am having an bit of an problem this last week...one making me feel sick to my stomach...I'm picking up some kind of radio frequency off my Gold tooth...it's also playing around with my hearing. Three days ago I heard what sounded like an woman talking to her little kid, and the child had an toy that was push buttoned, make a sound each time an button was pushed. at first I thought it was the TV set...but the noise wasn't compatable to what was going on.....it went away...and I've had ear pains...today...my right arm is hurting me,and I heard again what sounded like an "door bell" being rung. But no oen talking...I just finsished hearing an redition of "Silent Night"...now you know, I've already had two of my Gold teeth go out the door for simliar type stuff going on. But if this one goes...it's false teeth and we have no dental insurance right now. but it's crazy to have to deal with this going on. I think it may have something to do with weather modification also...an certain atmospheric frequency they use. I hoep it goes away here soon. Other then that, the day is pretty normal around here. Did you listen to "coast to coast" last night as George Noory talked to the fella about Facebook...they asked for calls at the end...and an guy called in an said that someone had stolen his picture from his profile in joing Facebook and used his name and he ws having to trace him down for "Identity Theft" and all the problems he's having with that one. He's had to go in an pay an lawyer on his own to file an "stop and destest" order on him...but they guy keeps moving...so he's hard to find. He advised everyone not to place pictures on the net in any web site...or have an profile sheet made up beyond the simple basics...but no real personal data. He said that Facebook is topping at present about 900 million users...many of them giving out some very personal data about themselves....then another guy called in an said he made the mistake of giving out his telephone number. They took to using that fradulantly also. I guess the public can no longer be trusted to do things correctly and in truth...heh? Picking up my grandkids this weekend while mom and ad go to an work party. I wen t out there last night...the house isn't really decorated and I have the feeling she don't really care...she's go tto much going on as it is. Maybe she'll get more in the mood for Christmas later on...but the kids are even sleeping on beds with no sheets on them corrrectly either, and everything thrown on the floor. One day left of school and her job and her "finals" are over with and she gets an Christmas Break also...she looks like she needs it...and my son goes in for dental work today. I'm hoping he'll feel better also...but he has to also put in an full day of work prior to going. I tried to help them an bit last night...but many times they want to do things "thier" way and don't like that either. Such is the working world of the young these days....they can barely keep up with it all....so tired that family time is usually "sleeping" time...and getting some rest. My heart doctor would say...NO!...to that kind of life style...but they have little choice with things right now. I'm got my grandkids for over Saturday night here. Maybe an movie also. Hope our health all improves and we can enjoy an bit of the Season. Talk to you all later on...drive safely over the Holidays everyone..safety in all things comes first...and there were an bunch of wild drivers out there the day I took my sister home from the luncheon the other day. Lots of police also. |
