In my younger day, it would of thrilled me to run around the place with its two lane bowling alley...video arcade room, pools all over.....and I know I would of looked down this sweeping flight of stairway and felt elegant, and thought....This must be paradise......but in my old age now...I looked at that sweeping stairway...and thought....Oh God, it would take me an couple of days to get down it...must be hell. Time changes our perspective I guess. But I did have compassion as she cleaned out the goods and left with an tear in her eye. Home is home you know...be it elegantly huge... or very small. Memories are made in them you know. They said an British heir-est bought it. I hope she comes with some help to keep it in top shape. My post office guy...in his little truck....I was out getting in my car when I saw him go past my house.,...make an complete circle in the street and go back over to my neighbor's house....and then came mine...I had to kind of laugh at his loop he made...but I smiled and and said "Merry Christmas!".....and he gave me my mail... and said...and "Happy New Year!"...and took off again....with an twinkle in his eye....I won't even ponder what was really going on. Some things are better left alone. I thought I'd better come in an say hello before my little computer hog takes charge tomarrow. At least it keeps her busy and happy. I am going to make Christmas Dinner and think I'll try that blueberry jam and wine/beef sauce for over the beef...Native american type thing I discovered last year or so. Well, actually I was talking with someone that "lives off the land"...I sent her the jar of local jam to make this and told her to go to the south 40 and get the vension for it. She laughed....she say's...I think you got an receipe for anything! Where's Ron at these days?....got an POE card from Barbara in Virginia. Haven't heard from her since I sent the last bunch out of post carrds...she was remodeling her condo back then. I have pictures of an Williamsburg, Va Christmas..they redo it in the 1750's style...no cars in the area either. Looks lovely. All decorations are mostly fresh fruit and garlands. Bright fabrics and plenty of candles.People singing and acting as it really was back in that period. Charming. I gave my daughter in-law an "Star of Bethlahem" plant tonight and did an center peice with it. they only had three of them where I purchased it. Took cookies out last night and an small meat cheese and fresh grape tray with crackers. Am tired tonight and my nose is dribbling somewhat....may take an allergy tablet...go to bed before the kids get picked up tomarrow. Have an good weekend everyone. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 04:23 on 19th December 2011 We just set the driest record EVER for the month of December at .18 inches of rain..normal is 3.5 inches. Maybe my nose is an case of allergy more then anything. Kids are back at their house now...I also dropped off over $100 worth of food while they are off from school...kind of help things along. She has an schedule change...wants me to get the kids off every Thursday to school...here's the kicker...got to be up at 5 am and out there by 6 am....me thinks an trusted nieghbor could do as good an job....but is there such an thing these days? I don't know how this would work out in snowy weather also. Probably try to help her though. Cartoon... two rolls of toliet paper...one is saying to the other....How's your day going?....the other says..."About the same as yours"....I had to kind of laugh.... with this nose problem. We don't ever have Sh*tty days do we.. an resounding ...NO! I'm sipping warm apple cider tonight. Trying to plan next week's stratagey on getting through the week. I have one present to get to my brother...Jim.. tomarrow morning....he went back to trucking...so I got him the movie of Narnia..the latest one....and an $20 gift certificate from Shari's Resturant...as an stocking stuffer...he got an Turkey, Ham and Beef earlier in the season to cover holiday meals. He's got an job now so I don't worry about him quite as much. My sister gets an food box, she already has her clothes and stocking stuffers...I'll deliver that Tuesday. They don't give her food like they do the families...I guess they figure she can eat with someone else? At any rate...I feel better knowing she has some surplus food in stock over winter months. Then it's just my own Dinner here at the house. I hope for an few days of rest in-beween. I did get some help from my guardian angels the other day...I think I know who they are also....both with snow white hair...one is an teacher use to know my grandfather back east, but was my teacher out here... the other one is an old boss of mine. The shopping center sits on her ground now that I was at. My old friend was there "checking" also...we have the same first name. I wished her an Merry Christmas as I went by also. I bought me four brand new nice fluffy pillows to lean back on yesterday...They feel really great also. AHHHH!...is the word. I go for now...see if I can catch up with brother tomarrow and give him his gift...I wanted something that he could take with him on his job. What better then an good movie at night and an free dinner...or breakfast. There were thousands out looking at lights with us last night with the grandkids..at Peacock Lane.. Better head for bed after wrapping the presents here soon....have an good day! Enjoy the Christmas music...as we only have maybe about an week or so left of it. Later....
