I do have a turkey & beef in the freezer though - probably do that for the New Year! |

Here's hoping you have a very peaceful and blessed Christmas. We shall be alone tomorrow unfortunately, just the missus and me but we like each other's company so it won't be bad. We're having family round on Boxing day so that will make up for it and we can then eat the chicken and gammon. All the best, cheers. |

Not to many places open on Christmas Day, but some day hope to have an nice Christmas out some place also...where we can enjoy things. I have my hubby's birthday on Dec. 30 you know...we will go out for that one... and usually do...for dinner.. It marks his "retirement" this year. I'll be making tomarrow's dinner. Going to be an simple family dinner this year and I just got called and was told that they are having the desert at her sister's house tomarrow...so she asked for an early afternoon dinner. I'm having roast beef with an side-line of crunchy chicken strips. I'll make my blueberry/ wine sauce for it also again. Mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes, steamed green beans, orange salad or tomato/egg salad perhaps both... and fresh veggies and condiments. rolls. Keep everyone happy. Ready to start in reading my books also for over winter. I have about 3 or four of them to read. Have an good day everyone....Merry Christmas! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 02:51 on 26th December 2011 Hello there Krissy....yes, it's been an busy one that is for sure. I didn't go to church this year...decided with my cold to stay at home and watch Christmas Eve Mass on TV...was the nicest one I've seen yet...they really brought out the gold....and probably ancient relics for some of it this year. I thought that also earlier...with what they are saying about the end of 2012....and going into " retirement" in about 5 days...I'd do it up in grand style this year with what I could before the first retirement check comes in. My hubby bought me exactly what I asked for...another flannel night gown and robe...but this is in scottish plaid colors....and I said...I suppose ou'd know what "Clan" these colors belong to?....he said... yes...Shirley needs an nightgown and this one looks like it fits...so here I am trying to idnetify it tonight. ... So far looks simliar to the Royal house of Stewart. Hi everyone...Dinner is over....and christmas is pretty well taken car of small remanents are felt laying around...like an put together snow blower under the Christmas Tree...corn popper from my sister over by the games. Games are all over for that matter of fact. But yes, I got an woderful gift from my grandkids...and large new portrait of them..and you know what they did. For many years I am known most of the time as an pretty clear "black and white" person to deal with...which means...I don't accept an shade off much in doing what your suppose to do to be correct. It kind of started with the "new"generations and their "pot" talk and what not...never accepted it. So this picture of my three grandkids is backed up in an black and white wall print behind them....as always...she's in the middle and her two brothers are each side of her...with their arms folded and protecting her....like brothers ought to do when they grow up. It was an surprise for me, they sneaked on me while I was cooking their dinner, and insisted I open it right then...and I told them...I'm feeling the "love" just coming up my "whole being" right now...and they all hugged me generously at that statement. All framed and ready to hang. It sits up next to the tree right now..next to the "Christmas angel" that gives out Chirstmas wishes. What more can I say...I'm humbled. I have nto had an formal picture of them taken in years now...it's truly special to me. With that I go an rest some now...all the festivites are far from over as of yet...hubby's birthday next, New Year's and in-between is the Scout recycle for Christmas trees. Hoep is twas an good one for everyone else...and this "dude" on his Lap Top in the UK...said he had no family...had been living in his car for two years, homeless...and was asking people to talk to him until he lost power...he wanted no charity this night...but could use an job...didn't want any inspirational talk,,,just didn't want to be alone on Christmas Eve....by the time I left, 2,000 people had talked to him....two people were headed to where he was... to be with him after his Lap Top gave out...one person was sending an pizza to them all...and two guys offered him an job after Christmas was over...seriously. God works miracles I think...or "Brits" do.... anyway......Talk later on. |
