Years have passed since then...last I heard he was operating his own fire station. Back in the days when we were young..his oldest son taught most of our swimming survival skills. You know where you take the canoe and go out and tip if over and then have to set it upright, get in it and paddle on into shore. Walter taught the boys fishing and we taught the boys water skiing..though we had help from an few older scouts back then also. One of the ladies taught "dock side" astronomy also. Everyone spent an year in training and had to be certified by the council to have our own Summer Camp one year. Dick and my hubby had to have every mintue of every day 24 hours logged for each boy on what they'd be doing..of course be first aidecertified...and hand over sheets of every thing they'd be buying for food and fuel and any other expenses...before we had the summer Camp also. We did this because at the time we had several parents in our troop with more then one son...like Dr. Sasson had three little boys back then. To send them each to Summer Camp was costly for the parents. It worked out really nice that year and everything went well also. Plus Dick's wife came and she's an ICU nurse as it is...plus triatholon runner. Sharon and Dorothy manned the kitchen and sometimes I helped if they needed it..cooking...which I also did with Walt on the last night there..during our closing ceremonies. Justin use to always make the dutch oven nightly desert...and use to help him with that one also on any of our scout outtings. I just got back from the doctor...as ususal none of my records jive with here's but I told her that I wasn't worried about it exactly...I have my daughter in-law and hubby see what I'm doing from time to time, so they know I'm not lying about what weight I'm losing or the blood pressure readings...reguardless of what anyone else says. . She wants to retest me again in November....and I made an doctor's appt in Oct with the cardilogist and to see her again on Nov. 12. I told her I'd have hubby home here soon with having an knee replacement...told her I didn't know how my nerves would take that but I'd try to make it through it all. Health net isn't paying an dime of any of my diabetes work...but they paid and approved ahead of time of his knee operation...wish they'd help pay for my medical needs. I picked me up an new book to help me also..."Living the Low Carb Life"...reminds me of Diana Sinclair again. Just took my 50 mintue daily walk today...so think I'll rest an bit and read what this book has to say in it. Need an lab sheet to be tested again from the Cardilogist like I was before so we can see the dramatic difference between then... and now... sort of thing. Talk to you al later on. |

Sorry mate, I put the system on then went outside to wash and polish me car. Hope all POEsters are well and that those in Blighty managed to remain dry or at least afloat. |

Remember the dip, well flooded out on the road! Rivers are very high and flooding many areas. I'm not sure but I've got a funny feeling that a sort of skin is growing between my fingers and toes, bit like Bats wings! lol |

Here we wish it would rain... cause we are all choking on the dust out there these days. Had an wild fire up on Mt. Hood today near Hood River...so close to an city that they dragged out all the airplanes to get it put out quickly. Fruit orchard territory also. X-factor on right now..should be watching it you know...and I saw that they made an movie of" Les Miserables" to be released this Christmas. You all know that Andy William died today at 84 years old...I have many of his albums downstairs..including "Moon River".Another of one of those rare talents in the world.. |
