American author Reynolds Price died at the age of 77. He is one my all time favorite authors. Very sad.

They announced this at the Rock Concert I was at last night and sang a tribute to him.  Did it well too!

Does it scare anybody else when someone so close to your own age dies? :-(

Always! Especially when it's of natural causes (as opposed to drugs or car accidents and the like).

Jet (Terence) Harris, MBE aged 71 of cancer; died Winchester, Hampshire.  Jet was the original base player with The Shadows and creditted with the bands new name after changing from The Drifters when they'd found out a US band already called The Drifters.

Jet teamed up with Tony Meehan and had a 1963 number one hit with Diamonds for 6 weeks, written by Jerry Lordan who'd written the Shadows hits Apache and Wonderful Land.

RIP, Jet.  I'd never heard of him, Paul.  He kind of has that surfer guitar sound, Dick Dale springs to mind.  Hope you are well and not working too hard.

Trying not to Ruth !  Here's one of my fav clips of Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughn with Pipeline; originally by The Chantays and a hit for The Ventures who were similar to The Shadows back in the '60s.

Oh, wow, that was very cool, Paul.  I didn't know they ever played together.  SRV is one of my favorites, also deceased, may he RIP.
