Amy Whinehouse has been found dead this afternoon, believed to be a drug overdose according to the television News report

Jerry Leiber aged 78; song writer of several rock classic hits such as Elvis's Hound Dog and Jailhouse Rock and Ben E King's Stand By Me.

And another GREAT songwriter, Nick Ashby died aged 70.

He blessed our lives with such hits as, "Ain't no Mountain High Enough", "Reach Out and Touch, Somebody's Hand" "I'm every Woman" and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing, Baby" amount loads of others.

Film actor Cliff Robertson aged 88 I'll best remember for his role as J F Kennedy in the biographical 1963 film, PT-109.

And the composer who wrote the famed flim score---and many other's too--Ron Goodwin (1925-2003) is buried a few miles from me in a little country church yard in Ashford Hill, North Hampshire.

And they don't write film scores like they used to either; Ron Goodwin Elmer Bernstein, and the westerns of Dimitri Tiomkin for example.
