I went to 13 sessions to obtain this..so here's the good an the bad of it....I didnt' gain the weight like I was doing the last time I joined Weight Watcher's and I'm partcial to them having lost 90 lbs.previously... from an ton of diets and diet pills I've been on thoughout my life, which I adhored and refused to take many of the diet pills in my youth, I use to hide them..I never liked them....but I am finding myself in an lot of pain from these excerises, in exchange for what little weight I have lost..not to mention acute water weight, I'v ehad three leg cramps so far over that, one seriously painful,,,.t this morning my wedding ring looks like it is indented into my finger..when it's ususally loose. I went to the hospital yesterday for the lab tests. I liked the diet in Curves, though it's limited. Drinking anything is not even in it...though the heart pills I can't have alchol anyway. I find the people friendly and encouraging, but also for the most part older and nearly everyone there has an huge stomach haniging out for some reason...but then again, most of them are older women. the Curves book itself is full of people with huge over all weight losts, this is not an diet for soemone wants to lose it "fast"..... and it's not as pricey as is the doctor managed programs, but much more then Weight Watchers...both diets have gotten to where you can't afford to lose weight every week for the costs of them. this does have the advantage of the excerise equitpment in the winter time though as included in the price of it. I have belonged to an "Health Club" before, and I don't like contracts, as you seldom use them in the summer time unless they have an swimmig pool. I still like my daily walks but I've been geting so weak here lately I haven't been able to do them like I was doing. the 8 pounds was nice to lose, but I'm use to doing that the first week of any diet. My usual weight lost use to be about 20 to 25 pounds the first month, if I really stuck to it, . so something is still amiss with me in some way healthwise. But I knew that constantly gaining the 3 pounds every month I was going to Weight Watcher's this last time was out of sync.., the hospital did metabolsim tests on me also yesterday...but for the most part "having babies" is something the females in my family... has caused them much sorrow in ill health...into their menopause years and beyond apparently...and whatever this is, it affects the heart and causes strokes...an all the relatives look like "balloons" as they age....I think my Great Aunt knew about it, because being an nurse she kept her weight down, and never had any kids herself...she lived longer, but her generation seems to be doing so anyway, of my Grandfathers line, there's only three children ever had any kids, from an hugh brood of them, on of those, except for him, only one other brother has more then an couple at most, and several have none. I still think this is more genetic then just the over eating, though the over eating certainly doesn' t help. I will try to stay on this diet an bit longer, though I felt it was double the calories I usually eat prior to joining, just to see how it goes, I've only been on this for about two weeks...so I have as yet to go the whole routine, which takes about two months or longer... As to the excerise, they released an report that their 30 min workouts have been know to burn 500 calories per session. so I'll give you some more follow thourgh here pretty soon, I had lost after the stent implant, on my own, no extra cost fee's 30 pounds or better......over summer. Walking daily and watching what I eat. I do not feel I expended the energy in doing that, then I have this 8 pound loss. I think if I can lose more wieght to where I get down lower in weight..... I'd get more out of the class though if I do deceide to rejoin it this fall. I am hoping between now and then I can get this water weight problem resoved, and vacations over with, and I have the Niaspan that I go off of also and more routine lab reprots comign up th eend of June...so I ahve some health changes anway, it will take me until then to stabalize my body. Just dropping one of those expensive prescriptions would pay for the monthly fee's to rejoin. Later. |

I got a bike last year and although I haven't ridden that much, I do enjoy it and it's phenomenal exercise. I train for riding outdoors on the stationary bike at the gym. I usually do about 8 miles in 30 minutes at level 5 on fat burning mode. But I need to do more often. I've rediscovered just plain walking too. I recall reading somewhere that walking was still the best cardio exercise for getting rid of belly fat. I enjoyed my BBQ foods as well (including homemade peach ice cream), but am still down 2 pounds. Slow and steady is the name of the game I suppose. One day at a time. Diana, I love the Atkins chocolate shakes. They are surprisingly filling at only 160 calories and make a great afternoon snack/mini-meal instead of some other things I could think of. Also good post-workout. |

Let it cook down to where there's no water left, but everything is still moist...coated lightly iwth tomatoe ketchup flavored with the Italian seasonings. Very good. |
