High Sweden Coppice On route back to Ambleside from High Sweden Bridge just before High Sweden Coppice, although there are very few trees around, looking back up the path which leads to the ridge of Low and High Peaks followed by Dove Crag. Scandale Looking northwards up Scandale from the slopes a hundred yards or so above High Sweden Bridge. A very well maintained path leads from Sweden Bridge upto Scandale. High Sweden Bridge 2 Very little water running in Scandale beck on this Saturday (28-09-13) afternoon stroll, my usual short walk on day of arrival. But by Friday following heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday night the large boulders in foreground where at least half submerged in a raging torrent pouring down from Scandale. Scandale track The beginning of the path from High Sweden Bridge to Scandale Fell, with Sweden Crag far left leading int the flatter top of Low Pike on the eastern rim of the Fairfield Horseshoe. This ridge forms the return leg once Scandale Fell has been attained.
