Wansfell Pike The mass of Wansfell rising up to the east of Ambleside as seen from the banks of the River Rothay. The day before I was up and over it and down to Troutbeck and back to Ambleside. Ambleside pier One of the many jetties at Ambleside, this one with the Queen of the Lake moored on its far side. This little boat also known as 'the walkers boat' does short trips across to Wray Castle where it drops walkers off for the lakeside walk down to the Bowness ferry near Far Sawrey, and then cuts across back to Brockhole before returning to Ambleside.
