Lanty Scar and Nab Scar

Lanty Scar and Nab Scar

Looking west from the High Sweden Bridge track again with Lanty Scat dropping down towards Rydal Water and Nab Scar rising sharply to the right. You can just make out the path up Nab Scar on the right which is hopefully on next weeks 'to-do' list. In mid distance behind Rydal Water is Silver How with Bowfell and the Pikes bringing up the rear again. July 2014

A Cuckoo's nest in Ambleside

A Cuckoo's nest in Ambleside

The Cuckoos Nest must be one of the smallest holiday cottages I have ever come across. This is the front on Compston Road with vehicle access, albeit incredibly tight. Main access is from the rear where there may also be a parking spot. 'Visit England' have now given it a 5 star rating. The cottage is on two floors with kitchen/dining area, lounge, one double bedroom and luxury bathroom.

Ambleside churhc 2

Ambleside churhc 2

St Marys church Ambleside from the 'newer' (if that is the correct word!) end of the graveyard. The homemade cross bottom right caught my eye. Two pieces of stick and an old bootlace ... simplicity itself
